The Land Cruiser Heritage Museum is offering an opportunity for a Land Cruiser enthusiast to purchase a vehicle currently in the museum’s collection. Offered for sale is a 1988 US market FJ62, manufactured in January of 1988.

The powertrain consists of a 3FE engine with an A440 automatic transmission. The transfer case is a Toyota split case. The axles appear to be original and exhibit little rust. The vehicle is equipped with power steering, power brakes, power antenna, power locks (some intermittent issues), power mirrors, power windows and R134 air conditioning.

The chassis has very minor surface rust where bare metal is exposed. The shock absorbers are KYB and appear new. The tires are late 2019-dated Good Year Wrangler Radials on factory chrome steel spoke wheels. There is a matching spare tire and chrome wheel. The wheels and hub caps are in excellent condition.

The interior is grey and in very good over-all condition. Small wear can be found at driver’s seat near the reclining lever. The original factory accessory floor mats are included. The dash pad is in excellent condition and the original radio is present.

The exterior is two tone silver/grey. The body panels are straight except for a few minor scratches and a small dent on the left roof edge. There is a small dent at the bottom of the right rocker panel. There is no visible rust on the exterior body. The glass is intact and in good condition.

History shows the vehicle was involved in a minor collision with a wire fence that required replacement of the front bumper and refinishing of the hood, front fenders, and a blend of the front doors.

The odometer shows 158,001 miles and is thought to be actual but there are no records available. This is a remarkable rust-free example of a classic FJ62. Those familiar with typical FJ60s and FJ62s will be pleasantly surprised when they look under it.

The vehicle is offered at $52,000.00

Update 2/14/2022. SOLD.
THANKS ALL.

The engine compartment is all there. The battery hold down could stand to be refreshed. :)

Note all the factory hose clamps. That says a lot to me.

Fuel tank recall completed?
Thanks for asking. Yes, that recall was completed November 5th 1991 by Fairway Toyota in Los Angeles California.

You don't see OEM floor mats very often, These are not great but cool to see and the exact correct pattern and materials to duplicate.

The warts. Not many for ~33 years. You have to get down low to see the rocker edge. I didn't know it was there until I crawled under.

Look like one I sold to Greg Miller before moving to Colorado from Oklahoma??

First time I had dealings with Onur when seller took it to his house in NM for inspection. Sure would be cool if it was same rig…

Seems like I asked about mine a few years later an it was thought to have been resold. Worth asking though

It's not the same one.

How much would it be if it had proper battery terminals and a OEM belt?

The battery cables are discontinued. A positive terminal could be had for about 20 bucks and the air pump belt would be around 23 bucks plus labor.

So add about 150 bucks?:hmm:

Bump. Still available.

This vehicle's twin sold today on Bring a Trailer for $56,000.00. Here's your chance to save 4 grand, plus auction fees. :)

SOLD!
Thanks everyone.
