So after I installed the LED signal bulbs, the whole signal system blink very fast, abnormal and rapidly. Lights ok when hazard but not turning left and right. Even the interior instrument blinker does rapidly too. I believe the signal relay was causing the problem. So i wanna know where's the location of the signal relay? Pictures might be better for me... Thx

Many turn signal relays are built around a certain amount of expected resistance from an incandescent light bulb. The LED light have less resistance, which throws the relay out of whack and causes it to flash more frequently. You should change out the relay to one designed for LED lights or insert a resister in the circuit between the relay and the bulbs. The lights I've used have a resister built in to account for this issue.

Check the engine compartment. There are basically four locations to look. The first is usually the owners manual. The others are under the hood near the battery, under the driver side dash, and under the passenger side dash. If I recall correctly, the relays are mostly in the engine compartment.

Gaijin speaks the truth. Unless you have an LED-compatible relay to install, replacing that component will do nothing for you. If you don't have the right relay, the you need to install resistors in the circuit to fool the OEM relay.

let us know how it goes because I am facing the same hyper blinking issue for turn signals (hazards are fine)

Thank God i found it. Its under the driver dash. Stupid quota i cant post photos. So just look for it near the foot rest pedal. Dig your head in and find a black small box and thats the relay! Thanks all

Opps i forgot. Gonna get some led resistor soon and splice them like gaijin said! It was very easy as i seen on youtube. Thx again guys!

RHD or LHD truck? which model year? please try to post a pic of the location and what is required to reach it

This is a RHD lc200. To get to the relay, remove the kick panel with 2 phillips screw. Unclip the 4 clips and you're able to see the knee aircond blower. Turn on the flasher and locate the sound of the clicking flasher. You'll see a small black box with 8-pin connector.

There's some vids on Youtube that teaches how to repair a signal relay. Or the easy way, use load resistors between the led bulbs wire. No cutting and soldering needed. Just splice them like in Youtube. Gud luck!

Oppss... I forgot to mention that removing the relay isn't an east work. It is locked by a nut which is hardly to be accessed. Probably removing the dashboard? Well it takes me whole day to remove just the 8-pin plug.

Resurrecting this one.

I just replaced my rear signal indicators with LED bulbs as well as the under-dash hazard flasher relay. That was enough of a pain by itself (as others have posted) but I wanted to know if any of you with this setup were satisfied with the brightness of the rear turn signals when all said and done?

I bought the bulbs and relay from SuperBrightLeds dot com and have had great luck with all of their products in the past (the vehicle bulb finder is especially nice). All other LED swaps in my LC had the desired effect - they were brighter! (cabin, dome, door, map, glovebox, etc. but *not* headlights)

However, with the rear turn signals, mine seemed dimmer the original sylvania halogens that were there previously. The main difference I noticed was that the LED bulbs seemed to only emit light directionally, as if concentrated on the bulb itself whereas the original halogens seemed to have more of a full, 360 range of light, and did better at filling up the mirrored reflector of the light housing seated behind the bulb.

Granted, my very unscientific test was done during the middle of the day in my garage with 8' fluorescents overhead, perhaps the nighttime test will reveal more & brighter LED light? And, while I didn't think LED was brighter, I wouldn't say it was unsafe either - still plenty bright to be seen and let other drivers know I am about to smash over them in the next lane of the interstate ;)

Thanks all!

If you notice, on Superbrightleds' site, they state the LED's beam angle. It's highly possible you simply bought a bulb with a low angle. Try one with a 360 degree beam pattern, and see if it fixes your problem.

Doh! You are exactly correct. On the vehicle guide, I simply bought the recommended replacement even though there were eight total options accessible from the link at the bottom of the pop-up window. My fault for not paying close enough attention.

Anyone need a dim, slightly used led rear blinker in amber? ;-)

Buy from VLEDS.com Much better quality and brightness. I have 16 LC and bought V3 for fronts (which come with built in resistors) and 7443 for rear. No resistor was needed. Both are brighter than original. V3 needs 3 amp resistor. 6 amp will cause hyper flash after adding rears.

Kevin,
I'm trying to find the flasher relay without much luck. I did the same on my 100 in less than ten minutes without issue but can't find the relay on my 2016. I removed the bottom dash cover as well as the steering colum cover but can see a damn thing. Care to shed so insight where you found it and how you were able to swap it?
