I’m looking for an AC clutch for my 1994 Prado with a one KZTE or I would take a whole compressor with a new clutch preferred just a clutch anybody have any ideas on where to source one of these? I’ve heard rumors there are some US domestic versions that will work from a forerunner, thanks Knute

It’s a DENSO 447-200

For the clutch you can get this Toyota 88410-22480 (8841022480) CLUTCH ASSY, MAGNET - https://www.amayama.com/en/part/toyota/8841022480 but this is available at a US Toyota shop.

The compressor is a whole different thing and I sourced it from Japan4x4 per suggestion from @OGBeno

R12: 88320-35H91
R134: 88320-35H92

Japan4x4 was great to work with but note the compressor is pricey.

I have a '94 KZJ78 - you can find my traumatic journey here: A/C not blowing cold, but clutch is engaged - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/a-c-not-blowing-cold-but-clutch-is-engaged.1315541/#post-15105569

Thank you very much that was very helpful. I was able to find that clutch at online auto parts for $129 plus shipping great price I’ll see if I can work on the compressor later but thank you very much!

So I got the clutch and removed the old one and found a previously damaged compressor snout so what I really need is the compressor

for engines (1FZ and 1KZ) uses the same compressor
Little bit of thread revival, but after seeing the above I was curious especially after the bearing in the clutch was in the middle of falling apart and make crunchy noises. I wanted to see if it would work especially with the temps not looking like they were gonna cool off any time soon and seeing if there might be a US available part that could work especially after seeing several instances of it being difficult of getting the clutch off without damaging the compressor housing. The 1FZ-FE ac compressor from a US 80 series does work if you also use it it's clutch. The clutch is a 1/2" smaller diameter, but the belt tensions okay.

So far the AC has been staying cool and everything is a bit quieter. Now if this hadn't worked I would have pulled the trigger on a new clutch and compressor from Japan.

Can you tell me the part number of the compressor and clutch unit you used and where you got it thank you Steve

I ended up cross referencing it to a Denso part which is 4711166 and I ordered it from RockAuto. I was more curious if it would even fit hence the Denso part instead of the Toyota one. This one came with both a clutch and a compressor already put together, so I didn't have to worry about breaking the compressor swapping clutches. I did end up having to have a shop install it because I haven't taken the plunge into buying AC tools yet for the house and the AC system still had a charge in it.

To clarify my above post you have to swap in both the AC clutch and compressor from an 80 series to make it work. The clutches and compressor are not swappable, but the assemblies are.
