I'm also wanting to do an AHC delete, and i'm in the same decision boat on a mid-range priced shock. I know the kings are top dog, but very spendy.

1. OME- out because I've heard too many say they are harsh
2. Bilstein - my go-to for other vehicles, but doesn't seem to have a good offering for the 100
3. Iron man- I've heard that they dont last very long? I think one version is better than another
4. OEM - won't do much good for a slightly lifted vechile.
5. Dobinsons - havent seen too many reviews, glad to see some good feedback about them on this thread

Oem works great with lifted truck. The shocks are same length i switched from OME shocks to OEM still have OME springs and torsion bars.

Curious what kind of off-roading you are doing that you need king shocks?

I always thought king put most of their r&d into desert truck applications. King is awesome but I wonder if some of the smaller shock producers might have more experience and testing w the 100.

King customer service for OE replacement shocks is close to non-existent. All of their resources go to desert racing/prerunners. Kings are nice only if you tune them, they won't work great out of the box. Radflo customer service is heaps better over King for shocks

Do you know if the radflo kits come pre-valved?

So you are racing? Just curious what type of off-roading you are doing that you would need Kings or is it just because you want them. To each their own.

IMO everyone runs kings for the looks, as well as the following. But all subjective and personal preference.

I personally went with Radflo due to their customer service and comparable valving and shock design to kings without the upcharge. I ain't racing, lol. Just wanted a good quality and rebuildable shock.

Never known IronMan Pro Foams to have any longevity issues. I run ToughDog (53mm Ralph front/45mm adjustable rear). 110k on them including 20k offroad miles. They are still performing quite well. I'm expecting another 20-30k out of them before replacing. Most likely going IronMan Pro Foam next unless I win the lottery and get Icon Stage IIIs.

Apply for a new credit card with 0% and finance the icons stage 3. hahaha. Totally worth every penny if you want bomb down the trails

How long did they go before a rebuild? I'm weighing options between Kings and Radflo as we speak.

They are custom valved for each application from Radflo, even if you buy from a distributor.

Because these are big, heavy vehicles and a custom valved, full rebuildable, 2.5" RR monotube shock for 1700 (for Radflo) to 2300ish (for Kings) is not that bad at all. My other hobby cars cost a lot more for that type of suspension. To be honest I'm surprised more people dont run higher end shocks on our trucks. People have no issues dropping 3 grand plus on a rear bumper, but think spending more than 1200 for shocks (made in China or the like, non-rebuildable, usually twin tube) is crazy talk. That doesnt make a lot of sense to me.

Because bumpers looks cooler than shocks. Most people just want the looks. Cheap lift + bumpers = overland AF.

can i ask, is there any difference in the LX470 between 1999 & 2007 & the landcruiser 100 series 1999 & 2007 over there suspension wise?
Kings list shocks upto 2002 but nothing after that

I redid the old worn out suspension on my 99 lx and running kings shocks non adjustables all around, new ome springs, bump stop, UCA, upper and lower rear trailing arms and the ride is amazing. I’m not a crazy off roader but I do use the vehicle on long camping trips sometimes on fire or washed out roads and comfort was the main reason why I went with new suspension over bumpers and roof top tents and the such.

If I had time to wait 9 months for shocks, I would have bought kings over icon. Last kings I bought in November, got them in may. I went with icons because they were in stock. I don't have anything to compare them to on an IFS 100, but I prefer steel bodies over aluminum. No shock will be perfect for your truck and driving style unless you pay someone to tune them or learn how to do it yourself. Another thing if you want to order kings (or any other brand for that matter) order from down south, filthy, or accutune and rely on their customer service.

so the shocks will fit from 1999 right through to 2007 correct ?
mine is the HDJ100 R 2005 model
Call King if you still aren't sure of the application. I already answered.

Of better yet, call the supplier you're going to order them through.
