Has anyone used 1010 keys for a replacement?

Or, do locksmiths have the ability to replicate a fob/key if I have one to provide?

Was asking a buddy (not the smartest tool in the shed, but works in the industry) and he thinks it's a dealership visit. I have a 2013 460

A locksmith can make the physical (hidden) key that's in your key fob, but you have to go to a dealer to program your fob.
Or... If you have Techstream, a product for Toyota/Lexus vehicles, you can do it yourself. You can get Techstream on Amazon.

Also have a 2013 GX460. I bought an ebay key from "locksmith-king74" -- you just have to match the FCC ID -- then I took just the key part to Ace Hardware and had it cut for like $20 (just need a place that can cut the Lexus key), then I programmed the FOB myself using Techstream. Easy Peasy.

I want to do the credit card key though now. Just hard to justify $300 for it.

I have used 1010 keys before for my LX470s also. The plastic key bodies don't last super long -- like a year or so (prob the same for pretty much any cheap knock-off ebay key), but once they broke, we just got an Eternity Key for one LX and then did a stronger upgraded key body (forget from who... somebody else here will know) for our other LX and then re-used the already-programmed-and-cut ebay key internals and blade. Been going on years on the ebay internals on both options.

Thanks

Sounds like techstream is the way to go. I see some options on amazon with mixed reviews...

I am working with 1010 keys now to see if they can get it done for me.

For my wife's Hundy and mine, I designed a key fob for those keys and 3D printed them on my printers. All the electronics (PCB) was fine, but as you mentioned, the cases weren't very robust.

My GX came from the internet dealer with two keys but one was for a different GX. That wasn't the only mistake that dealer made but they paid me for it after I got a quote from the dealer to show the cost.

I got the physical key cut from an on line place that worked off photos of the one working key. That cost under $20.

I bought a new fob from Bell Lexus and programmed it myself using Techstream. It wasn't too hard. There are tutorials on line.
