Hi, I have an 83 FJ 40, about 60,000 miles. Just had frame off work done because of some rust ....new brake lines, etc...... The engine was repainted also. It always fired up and ran perfectly before this work. Now that it is back together it isn't running smoothly. The catalytic converter has been removed. There was a heat sensor that ran from the converter. I am not a mechanic. I only work on the truck with a screwdriver(the easy stuff). The mechanic looking at it believes he has checked everything out and thinks it could be this now disconnected sensor causing the trouble. Does anyone know if this might be an issue? Can it function normally without this Catalytic Converter heat sensor?
I know there can be vacuum issues and other minor problems with the reassembly of everything after the paint and frame blasting, was more concerned about the smog stuff.
Would like to keep it stock, but can't find that sensor anywhere.
Thanks,
JamesX
