I was lucky a couple weeks ago, and found a Kaymar that had never been installed. The previous owner purchased it, had it painted to match (gold), but never put it on. Instead, it was in his shop, outside, and has been dragged around for several years leaving it looking pretty beat up.

It sat around for a couple weeks before I could do anything, but since I was stuck at home this weekend, I was able to just about finish sanding it down to bare metal. Tomorrow it goes off to get powder coated.

The only bad thing is that they have made changes to the Kaymar, so I am pretty sure that I cannot buy the swing-outs for it. Nor, will they be shipping any more to the US. So if anyone knows of any swing-outs or spindle-covers out there for the old style "non-led" Kaymar, please let me know.

Since I am not in a rush to get the swing-outs, I am hoping someoen out there has one that I can buy.. otherwise, I hope I can find a hub that fits these spindles. I would rather fabricate just the swing-outs and use the existing spindles, than to pull them out and start from scratch.

nice find.

no help here about the arms but surely something will come up.

It'd be easy to find the bearings that go on the spindle, but the sprindles look pretty nasty. I'd suggest going with new spindles. Then you at least know you're getting good, new machined surfaces and all the parts match (races, grease cap, castle nut, etc.). There's zillion of them online, around fiddy bucks.

They aren't as bad as they look. He had them wrapped in duct tape. I just need to finish sanding the base area, and use some goo-gone to clean off the spindles.

Contact Ben at OutbackProven.com, he is a Kaymar dealer and may be able to help you out.

i'd make sure you can get one of those swingarms before getting it powdercoated if it were me. would really suck to get it back and have to grind off part of the PC to install new spindles.

Picked it up from powder coating today. Looks great!

Gottagetone & justdifferentials: Thanks for the info, I talked to Ben, and he was able to track down the model, and will be able to order the swing-out and accessories for me (order pending).

More pics to follow when I get it installed later this week.

Some pics after I loaded it in the minivan:

Finally installed it late last week. I'm optimistic I will be able to get the tire carrier soon from Ben @outbackproven.com. I sprayed the top diamond plate with the Rustoleum bed liner. I also will be installing a new trailer receiver in the bumper, but I want to wait until the swing-out is installed. For now, the old one is zip tied underneath. There are no current plans to go wheeling so it will be fine for the moment.

Trunk, I'm not sure if I will have to remove the PC on the spindle or not, I'll look into it further when I install the hub.

And don't be hating on the minivan... the Sienna has more cargo volume than the LC hands down. When I first picked up the bumper I had to lay it on the middle seats when they were folded down, and it still barely fit.

You will have to remove the PC from the spindles. Bearings are a very tight fit on spindles and PC can be up to a mm thick.

Does look great!

Looks nice. How well do the bumper lights compensate for the blocked tail lights? Any concern over the partially blocked plate?

Does the tailgate sit with that bumper & swingout installed? Looks great!
