It is with mixed emotions that I am selling my 1972 40 to fund another project. I have had it for about 4 years. You can see the work that I have done to it if you look up my handle here on MUD. It is all well documented, because all of you helped me so much. Thank you so much for your help and advise over the years.
I bought it from a guy in Arizona and it is an Arizona original. Since I have had it here in Kansas, I have not driven it in the rain or salt. It has been garaged every day it has been here. I truly believe it is in very good shape and very little rust and NO SIGNIFICANT rust. No diamond plate, no rust holes, no problem.
Runs, drives, and stops great.
I can send you pics of whatever you would like to see. I am also posting some pics of some of the common rust areas.
It does have a 2F out of I believe 78 cruiser in it.
I am asking 13K for the cruiser. I am also open to offers if you think I am off on my price.. I have jump seats, half doors, rear heater, and bikini top to go with it.
Short and quick list of things I've done
Disc Brake Conversion (FJ60)
Dented Side cover and dizzy upgrade (fj60)
Top gel coated and new headliner
Brand new OEM steelies and 33x1050 BFG AT
Front seat re-upholstered with Cruiser Corp seat covers
Professionally powder-coated seat frame while off
2.5 iron man lift (all new springs, shocks, bushings etc)
Put 1972 hood on it (had an 75 and up hood) good story behind that one
New water pump, radiator and hoses
New windshield
New oil pan and all new gaskets. NO LEAKING
Winch was totally taken apart rebuilt and works perfectly, with new cab controls.
New door rubber and window channels toyota OEM stuff.
Things that are not perfect
I think the rear driver side brakes are going to need a new cylinder, it seems to be leaking a bit.
The original fenders are a little rough. No rust, but the have some trail scarring. I didn't want to go with aftermarket and figured if I got to the point, the body guy could fix the original fenders.
It is 42 years old. And like me who was also born in 1972, is not as young as it once was.
