Hello All,
I am just introducing myself. My name is Katie. I live in Las Vegas. Work in Henderson. Will trade private swim lessons for advice or repairs. I drive an '85 FJ60. She brings joy to my life. That's right, she is a her (Elsie). My brother owns a 60 too, and my papa rocks a FJ40. We're a family of cruisers (dad raising us right). I just thought I would say hello, I am sure I will be here a lot with any question I may have regarding Elsie's hick-ups. Any way, Hello, Good Evening, and see you around.

Welcome Katie! The good folks on this site are full of great advice. Many are also full of good natured BS so might sink if you try to teach them to swim!:)

Good fambly! My daughter "borrowed" our '83 60 for a couple years & gave it back when it wouldn't stay lit at a stop light. Ya'd think she could fix the intake manifold leak herself the way I taught her.

Welcome to the list.

My youngest, Kate, was looking over the cruiser with "So do I get to drive this when I turn 16?"
Actually after seeing FJ60's in some nasty accidents, it is the car I want her driving. Still one of the easiest to learn to drive a stick with (tried teaching my nephew to drive my Nissan Maxima -- and he kept stalling it getting very frustrated. Realized the problem, had him jump into my old FJ60 and drive it... got the hang of clutch pedal and gas pedal.... so was able to finally adjust to the sensitive Maxima after a month in the cruiser).

Still trying to figure out a good name for the lastest family addition. Ol' Blue or Nevada Blue. Yep, it used to reside up in Carson City area. Hmm, wonder if anyone in Texas would notice Nevada plates for five years until it becomes smog exempt. :)

Welcome.

How is the cruiser running now?

welcome Katie

Hey let's see some pics of the old girl. Also lets get her built right - there are a lot of great products and builders on this site as well !!

welcome!

between your brother [labor] and your dad [knowledge], the list here should be able to help answer anything else those two don't already have covered.

enjoy.

i started learning stick on a '60 volkswagon bus. So by the time i got to love the cruiser, my dad couldn't say no. That and he knows I'll take good care of her.

Yeah Dad, I'm thinking you should have a picture of the '40 instead of Elsie. She sure is pretty though huh?

Gdtrfb has a display picture of Elsie, as he is my dad. This picture is pre-my sweet custom bumper though. I am pretty sure. I heart my brush guard.

welcome. if you have not seen it yet there is also a girls garage corner on mud. not to say you are not welcome here but when you get tired of the testosterone here there is another place to go!!

BTW what do I need to do to get my wife more interested in driving one of these tanks?
