land of aaaaaahhhhhhhs.
After the advice of members here I had the dealer sort out the key issue. The dealer replaced the ECM and cut and programmed a new master key for me so I bought the truck. 2000 LC champagne/Tan 43,000 miles. So far I'm thrilled! I'm going to replace the tires this week and after browsing through tons of previous threads I'm going to go with 287/75 Revos. I used to have a 97 4Runner and I'm just amazed at how superior this rig is in every aspect.

One newbie question to start the morning off with.

My LC doesn't have the trailer hitch on the rear. I'm assuming this means it did not come with a tow package? Can I add that later? If not, it's not a big deal as I have another truck to tow things with.

Not sure on the 100 series, but on the 80 series all the "tow package" included was the tow hitch bolted underneath the rear. Easy to bolt on.

I'm pretty sure the 100 is the same.

Where are you located?

The tow package on the 100 included the wire harness as well which contains a sending unit in the DS rear tail light. This is a recalled item but would not matter since you do not have the wiring. The actual receiver is not that expensive.

Just updated my profile with location.

Ahhh, that's what I thought due to your username.

Nice to have someone local on here. Welcome to the board!

Wow: 2000 with only 43K: SCORE!!! Just my $.02: Before you add a hitch think about whether or not you will be changing out the rear bumper...

I might be wrong but I believe that the "factory" tow pkg on a 100 includes a transmission oil cooler. My Dad's 00 Tundra had this set up as well.

Yep, found my window sticker. My 100 came with the tow pkg. w/ trans. oil cooler listed under standard features.
