June Hurricane Creek Trip

All, this trip is scheduled for June 6th-8th to Hurricane Creek and the surrounding areas in NC and TN. This is an Expo style trip in which self reliance is the subject. No bathrooms, no gas stops for the entire weekend, no showers (well cold mountain stream baths), no guaranteed camping sites, miles from paved roads!

Does this sound like a trip for you?

This trip will be limited to 7 ONSC paid member trucks, and even though we have ventured this way before, I'm thinking of mixing it up a little though. Maybe a possible 2 team poker run/geocache/GPS/orienteering competition. But, details will be ironed out in the near future. If you do not make this trip, there is a second trip in August planned, but FJinTegaCay will plan the specifics.

This sounds like a blast, but I'll have to hold off and shoot for the August trip. My son's baseball schedule is conflicting with all the cool trips this spring, it seems (STR...GSMTR...)

Would it cause an issue with those committed to attending to switch this trip to run from Saturday 07JUN to Monday 09JUN, instead of Friday 06JUN -Sunday 08JUN? Heather has a work schedule conflict, and would be easier for us.

Change would not work for me, already have Friday off (normal day off due to 9 hr work day schedule) and have commitments on Monday, though postponing this trip for me is probably best. My company (Babcock&Wilcox - B&W) has announced several weeks ago a major cutback of our project and major layoffs pending. I have been tapping people on the shoulder and walking them out over the last two weeks with the major ball dropping June 16 - so bottom line I need to postpone this trip and be flexible to options at work.

yep - out on this one, life's little speed bumps. No worries - new opportunities and some free time to complete projects. Thanks for kind words…as we know there are others having real life impacting events - my sympathy and prayers go out to Josh and family
