I have homemade spaghetti sauce (frozen in some mason jars). It's spicy and full of meat. So I'll bring that for Dutch Oven Spaghetti.

Yum! I love when a plan comes together!

I think the Dutch oven spaghetti by Jason and Cleo is vegetarian.

Hey Guys, I am going to have to bow out of the Main Run so there is an opening for someone who hasn't gone before.

Hope everyone on the run and camping have a great time.

No fires = no Dutch oven cooking, y'all.

I still plan on heading out to camp, but will pass on the hot, dusty runs. It looks like @Clunky can take the point for the alternate trail group, so you are in good hands.

Wonder if anyone is bringing a fire ring of the propane variety, I believe they are legal even with the fire restrictions. Anyone know?

Hey everyone. Just got home from Alaska. Sounds like everyone is planning on tacos. Since no fire we would like to bring veggie fajita toppings (sautéed bell peppers, onions, and mushrooms) does that work?

That would be awesome, I was actually going to ask if someone could bring peppers and onions to cook up.

Several of us have propane rings. I'm sure there will be one or two, now having enough propane is a different story

@Abigail and @LandCruiserPhil thanks again for the excellent recovery/off road info at last meeting! Man wished I could have been there. Darlene said it was great. This is the second time I have heard the hi-lift jacks can be sketchy, my friend who teaches extraction at Overland also is NOT fond of them either. I will be carrying my trusty Toyota bottle jack, I know that wont fail me!!!

FYI guys I actually drove up there to the campsite yesterday hoping to take a day off and get out of the 120 heat here in the valley. Got there around 11am and it was a balmy 94 at the campsite. Might not need your longhandles on this trip. Detour was still in place. I went there in my F250 wanting to see if I could get my small trailer in. On the main road it probably would be fine but there are enough twisty turns on the detour to discourage my 20-footer. I surprised a bunch of deer bedded down in the ferns on the way into the campsite. for all you Toyota smarties, yes, my F250 Deisel got in and out just fine.

and yes Kudos to Land Cruiser Phil on the safety / recovery talk. My elementary school age kids at the meeting thought that he sure did know a lot of stuff about trucks!

I noticed that I somehow still didn't officially get myself on the camping list. is there still room? if not I found a couple more campsites just down the way.

I don't have control of the camping list. Don't worry about that you are on the camping list. There will be plenty of room.

Remember a thread a years ago about someone with a lifted 80 series using a highlift jack to change a tire on the pavement. It fell hurting the guy. Had to explain to a neighbor lift by the axle is much safer than by the bumper. I have used my highlift jack many times on my 40 series with the purpose pushing it over to Mom's the cruiser sideways. Very useful tool if you understand how unstable it is.

Currently living at a elevation even higher. Monday night it was still 82 degrees at 10:00PM. Low was 59 last night. Until the monsoon starts doubt it will get much better.
