thanx for takin pics...my handss were too greasy..but I did get a pic of a cow killer...all in all a good day...

When your working there is no time to take pics.... took my camera but didn't take one picture.....

All in all a good day.
David got his winch fixed.
Quinton got his dual battery system installed and got his temp gauge working again.
I got my new wheel bearings and bigger brakes installed along with the newer MC and Booster.... but then one of my old brake lines blew on the test drive so i'm not quite done yet.

Thanks for Quinton for hosting, and everyone for coming over. Had a great time and then 5 of us headed to the white water center for more beer and food and then back to Q's for even more beer.

And then I came home to my AC not working
looks like i'll have to learn how to become an AC tech also.

Unfortunately, the winch is continuing to drip oil but there is still enough in there that I'm not going to worry about it.

I texted you Rafael's mobile #. He owns an HVAC company and used to teach it at CPCC.

Quinton - Love your place. Quite jealous of your set up. Thanks for having us over.

What do you think it is? Ya'll seemed pretty confident on it... Hell, just drain it and keep it dry until your next run.

Quinton, thanks for being an excellent host! Your farm is awesome and the quick walk to the whitewater center is awesome:grinpimp:

Al, sorry that your brake line split, but I guess it was just time for that line to go. Good thing they're cheap!

As for the AC, check to ensure that the compressor kicks on when the button is pressed. If not, then you have an electrical issue and that would be my guess since we were only working on the driver side of the engine bay.

As for my side project, I could not be happier :grinpimp: It is living in my garage for now. Thanks Mike!!

AC..... house not car :grinpimp:

 Oh, well then, different system.

Yeah after doing some research most of the interweb arrows are pointing towards a bad capacitor.......

You would think a brake line would be easy to get but it will be wednesday before I get one :frown:

oh well

Bad capicitor will run you around $150. well thats what it cost me to get my condo ac fixed here at the coadt.

Then you got had son.... a capacitor is about $15-$25

Al, check your fuses, if you haven't already. It happens to me about twice a year. Pop in a new fuse and good as new. Sounds like you guys had a good weekend. Hopefully not too hot for you.

We'd though the oil was dripping out as there wasn't enough compression on the x-ring between the bushing and the spool b/c the bushing was set too deep. Therefore, when we put the bushing back in place, we purposefully set it for slightly less than the recommended 0.190". This made it terribly difficult for me to get the locking plate which holds the spool in place into position. It was so hard, it made me think we couldn't have gotten it much tighter. So, either we made it too tight and the x-ring shredded under the pressure (in which case I already have one on order) or it still isn't putting enough pressure on the x-ring.Rather than drain it, I've just relocated the cardboard I place under the cruiser. I suspect it will be fine to use as the gears simply splash/sling this oil up on the gears during use.

Doesn't seem like this model has fuses..... I shut off the breaker at the box in the garage and then looked in the wall mounted box by the unit and it just has some terminals and then a piece that you pull out with just some copper strips that make the connections when it is in.

The capacitor has the "popped" top on it which according to every source i've looked at says that it is blown and just remove and replace..... cheap part, just have to take a picture to make sure all the connections go back in the right way.

Enjoyed Saturday! Angerhater and JohnVee thank you for educating me on electricals and showing me how to repair the electrical gremlins. I drove it today to the office. Temp gauge stayed in normal position for the entire 1:15 commute.
Good to see everyone and glad a few of us were able to escape the garage to solve our real problem: more beer required :)
