Once you wrap your head around it all, the TBI system is pretty simple. With the basics covered, it should fire right up.

What did y'all run to the three vacuum ports on the throttle body...or did you just plug them?
I'll check, but I think the only vacuum line is the one running to the MAP sensor. The rest are capped.

Cool...that's what we've got. I've seen some where the larger of the ports is run to what looks to be the PCV valve, but we've got the PCV valve run to the factory location on the bottom side of the intake manifold.
Which fuel pump are you running?
If you find that it's too loud, and you have a few extra bucks, this one is silent. It's a low enough pressure that it doesn't overwhelm the TBI.

The one that came with the AFI kit....not even sure the make or model. It looks identical to the one above, but I suppose they all look pretty similar.

We connected all the wiring, added water and coolant, dropped a supply and return fuel line into a 5 gallon can, primed the fuel system, and she fired right up. Initially she would die right after starting up. Turns out one of the injectors was a little clogged. After we blew it out she ran like a champ. Still needs a slight timing adjustment, but she lives:
