Thanks Lenny.
Well the edumucation on painting/ other little projects/ work so far has taught me alot:
1. Ive learned about how all the sheet metal fits together, the original design, what tends to rot and why (for future purchases

), read about welding equipment, learned I have no business welding yet, took yalls advice and treated it with RB for now, and to get it safe and driving then do cosmetics.
2. I have redone the fuel system from gas cap to the carb so I understand that alot better (learned about the cam, piston wear, electric verse mech fuel pumps, how the eccentrics and firing order work, how the fuel is lit, etc etc.)
3. have read LOTS of 40 build threads and familiarized myself with ground up restos to refresh jobs...learned about things like body mounts, various types of suspension upgrades, cutting axles and turning axles, all the power steering options, why I dont want or need fuel injection, regearing, etc..
4. After my volvo debacle I learned enough about 80s to do some soul searching and realize I dont need 2 trucks as I dont have the funds for both.....but realized I want one one day for an expedition rig (I believe my true calling)
5. redone my dash cluster lights and some of that wiring so it all works
6. what tools are must have's for all of the above and various liquids and cuss words for rusty bolts and body parts
7. from our threads in CLC I have learned that if it's for sale Nolan will probably buy it, patience pays off (Gregs recent buy), if I ever put in a pool who to hire, where to eat in Jackson, what goes in a cooler for Moab, why the Cherokee is so great, how to name a truck (esp if it's a Dirty Girl looks like a catfish), what weapon to pack depending on where you are in Memphis, and last but not least...... Jeff's cryptonite is a diving board
it has all given me a good BASIC knowledge.....enough to know where to go for more info. before doing various jobs.
I am really looking forward to the knuckle rebuild....the exploded view of the front axle is ridiculous but it's simply putting the layers, gaskets, nuts all back in with the proper amount of pressure and fitting when you break it down.
The current fight.....driving me nuts......is the timing and DUI....
looking forward to the rear main seal job too......still leaks occasionally.
CLC and Mud have been tremendous resources in all this.......now if it weren't 95 degrees in my garage I could go work!
