Just got back after being delayed 3 hrs in Dallas. At least I had mud to pass some of the time.

I got one of the bolts to let go on my windshield so now it's off and being painted.

the other 3 are still holding fast so I just painted the hinges on the truck.....kind of half ass but I lost interest after hammering the left side so hard I broke Jeff's philips head (dont worry got you 2 more)

I also was told by the wife "do something with this butcher paper it's taking up to much room in my decoration closet" so I did:D

Lookin' good Bro! That thing ia gonna look great!

someone has been hard at it! looking good. What brand paint are you using again?

thanks fellas....it's not the Purdy truck.......it's still a 20 footer but it will help with rust and atleast spruce it up some

lenny it's Rustoleum spruce green. I have used 12 cans to date and expect about 5 more will be needed for the rear quarters after I do some rubber hammer work and bondo.

I was talking to greg...next up is a knuckle rebuild and once im driving it again (determine where all the leaks are)

It's actually not that bad, but my floor all ready has oil, rust bullet, cat hair, leaves, etc on it anyway!!! so now all that is green, but it's not on the walls....i always had a box fan going to pull it out of the garage and both doors open BUT the fan is nice and green.

yeah I will get the kit from Georg probably.....seeing as he is a vendor and can send it all together

check out the way Jrob made his paint booth in his garage. you can hang visqueen (spelling?) from the ceiling to cut down on overspray.

I didn't go to the trouble of Visqueen I just pulled the wifes 4runner out and sprayed and let each coat dry over night..... I have so little left to do now it would be pointless.....all though I probably should have when I started. I did all major parts with both doors open and my box fan pulled it out into the outside, the small stuff I did in the driveway or on saw horses at the garage entrance so it wasn't bad inside.

Windshield is on finally

So I took off work at noon and went straight to the garage since im working all weekend.

I finished painting the windshield, let it dry and got it back on with all new hardware, rewired the wipers, painted the wiper motor cover, put all new hardware on the hood, got the hood kick stand back on (that was fun with only 2 hands and the hood sitting on the truck), got the drivers side mirror on, etc. Notice on the passenger side, bottom half hinge, I STILL have one screw that is giving me fits and won't come loose. I need to get it out before I can put the new side mirror on.:bang:

Looks like I will make it to the Cherokee Tuesday so yall can give me advice on what to do about the rear end:
1. put the diamond plate back on
2. bondo it, paint and roll
3. say screw it and just paint
4. win the lottery and buy 2 new quarter panels.

Treat it good, paint it with rust bullet and put the diamond plate back on till you are ready to fix it right. Treat and bondo the rest.

Nice job Shush!

Jeff...it's all ready gotten rust bullet on quarters and bad spots on sides.....in the last pic the silver square by the front side of the rear wheel well is Rb where that dang drain line is that rust out so easy...other side is way worse

Nolan....I kept the diamond plate that came off I guess I just need to buy a rivet gun and bolt um back on. any other prep I should do? Rust is stopped I could clean and spray paint it for a little extra protection.

thanks Chris

what do yall think about the color? im pleased. The color looks better in person IMO, but the paint job looks worse!!!:meh:

Lookin good Shush!

I have a pop rived gun you are welcome to use anytime. I used it to rivet my fender flares on.

Lash....that would be GREAT. Can you bring it Tuesday night?

Do you know what size (diameter and length) rivets you need?
