Got Toyo Open Country M/T's mounted up today. 285/75/R18 ~35x11.50

Going to have to knock out the pinch weld mod tonight real quick but other than that at first glance definitely streetable with my current setup. Will be doing a 1"BL this week or next along with 4.88's and lockers.

They feel sized similarly to the Super Swampers on my LX for those of you who remember some of the older threads... ;)

Anyhow search didn't show much on the Toyo OC M/T's like the MTR's in 35 so I thought I would post up a couple sans BL etc before the truck gets a bit more transformed... UCA looks to be a non issue from what I can tell but gotta go do a little flexing I suppose to get a feel for everything. Anyhow, a few pics:

Wow, let me be the first to say they really look great. Ill be interested to see the results after you test them out a little bit....

I have been eyeing the 285/70/18 KM2's for my next tire but dont know if I can swallow the price.. Where did you end up picking these up from if you dont mind my asking?

Bought from a local shop that is part of the "Tire Pros" group now. I had the intent of going with MTR's since they are very well documented on here but they were $100/tire higher. That means I get my fifth Toyo for the rear bumper (when they become available again) for nearly the price of 4 MTR'S.

Very Nice! looking forward to seeing them in Ouray.

Trimmed back the fender liner. Didn't bang on the pinch weld yet. Going to wait and see where the 1" body lift puts things. I will say this the pinch weld on a 100 is STOUT compared to the thin metal on my Taco I did!

Trimmed the "bulge" in the liner, pinch weld lines up with MT sliders pretty nicely:

Looks great! Open Country M/T's are an awesome tire too. Heavy but awesome still. Nice build direction getting the gears and lockers out of the way early

Very nice... :hmm:

It is going to be very nice to be able to look at all of the different mods and all of the different ways similar mods were achieved on each others rides!

These are definitely becoming the go-to 35s. No spacers plus a true 35".

It's still a big 34...it will really surprise me if you can actually wheel it with no spacers...you can drive it but really flexing it will likely show rubbing that spacers will address....

That MT is a true 35.
35.1" actually.... But I think spacers will be required once you really start flexing on lower psi's

Looks great! I'm sold on this size tire for the 100 and will continue to buy the 285/75R18 size in future tires. They also work great with the stock 8" width wheels.

If anybody else wants to give this size a try, Spressomon has a used set of 5 MTR-K's going for a very reasonable price.

I've had the 285/75/18 Toyo OC MTs since 2009 and love their performance. I get a little rub on the UCA at full lock and on the frame which IMO is no big deal. Also the rear rubs the inner fender well area on full compression a little bit even with my 1/2" SpressoFab body lift. I don't think a full 1-1.5" wheel spacer is needed as you'd start to get into issues rubbing else where on the front but a 10mm spacer would help with rubbing. That being said, I have no spacers and have been fine without them.

I thought you and Dan were both on MTR's. That is good news about the minimal rub. Hoping when the 1" BL goes on next week it will alleviate all but full compression issues. Wasn't sure if I'd have to go in and work on bumpstops, spacers, pinch welds and all that good stuff...

I did hear a little rub in the front fender well tinkering around compressing the front suspension on a berm at my house last night at full lock. I may go ahead and check into 10mm spacers based on your feedback. It's going to get dropped off at ACC today for a bunch of work and I've asked them to check out the fitment while they have it.

Dan has been on the Toyo OC AT and AT2s as well as the MTRs in the 285/75/18 size. I've been on the OC MTs the whole time and plan on sticking with them.

10mm wheel spacer will put your left front tire into the washer fluid res shield a little bit more when turning right with the wheel compressed but as long as your pinch weld is beaten back you should reduce rubbing pretty much everywhere else.

As far as full compression issues 1" should get you pretty damn close to clearing if not fully cleared. At speed with the 1/2" I still rip out all the clips of my fender liner. They've stayed in place even without a majority of the clips holding them in place so I've decided not to do anything about it. Also, if you adjust your turn stops make sure to locktite them as they'll probably fall out otherwise. Even with locktite I've had one fall out.

Drive like grandma or adjust your compression side bump stops or go 1" body lift
