I got the correct shims to achieve 11# with a pull scale on each steering arm. Looks good so far. Got the wheel bearings and races removed, wheel bearing assemblies cleaned and painted. Just waiting on them to cure up so I can reassemble. Getting there, amazing how much longer everything takes when you clean, prep, prime and paint all of the parts. As well as replace everything!

Do you happen to have any specs/measurements handy for the front and rear ruff stuff mounts in relation to the old mounts? I want to do the same swap an the rear of my 60 and was hoping you could provide some reference points for me. There was tons of info when I spring swapped my 854Runner but I haven’t seen many folks post how far forward from center mount hole to center mount hole when doing the 63” swap.
thanks,
Burl

Hows the ride? I have always wondered why people didnt do chevy 63s on the 60s as much as the mini truck crowd. I had a buddy with them on his firstgen 4runner and they rode so well on the street and flexed like crazy on the trail

Late to the game here, I used round U bolts for my SOA build. I am trying to figure out why square u bolts are being used. Do they match the kit you welded in? My ruff stuff kit used round u bolts.

Nice setup. I too have the chevy rear springs.

It rides awesome with the 63” Chevy springs. I wouldn’t do anything else!

The square U bolt was used because the holes on the perch put the u bolt too far under the diff where it begins to widen, the square u bolt allows you to fit under the wider part of the diff. Hope that helps!

Going to get the new bump stops in tonight. Then it’s off for a re-gear and possible e-lockers!!
