Adam, will not have the intake / exhaust done in time. Not getting the gaskets till the 18th and then it has to go to the machine shop.

Del, do not forget you have a driveshaft over this way also.

I'm planning on being there! Anyone want to carpool? :D

Count me in too. It will be good to meet some people and help out where I can.

Sounds reasonable. I'm planning on a pot of chili and a sandwich platter, chips and beverages, Brianna is planning on baking something, probably her signature double chocolate chip cookies. We can talk how we can organize that.

I called around for sandblasting today. I received phone estimates from $200-300 (Dan's Signs and Sandblasting on Hwy 401 near Perry Creek Rd) to $800-1100 + $250 for epoxy primer from Jon's reference. At least that was as close to what I could find, I couldn't find "Carolina" quick strip, this place is "Affordable" quick strip (1941 Haw River Hopedale Road, Burlington, NC 27217-8945 336 570-0100). I tried to call A1 Sandblasting but couldn't get through so I sent an email that I copied you on.

Affordable can't get to the job until the week of 1/30, Dan's said he is clear next week.

I'll keep calling to see if anything else sound better...

Jerry.... Ill be there to help.
If there are extra empty hands around I am going to bring the materials/tools for a body lift.
If we need to focus on the 45 way cool by me too.

A1 called back with a price quote in between the two for the 45, $185 for the frame, $300-400 for the body/bed parts. He admitted not being familiar with it so it could be less.

I'm voting for Dan's on 401, closest, cheapest and seems most flexible out of the group. No epoxy primer, just plain on blasting...

Jerry, the pins and my latches will be in tomorrow, so we'll be good to go as far as swingouts...

I do... seems we'll have to sleeve them to make them fit in the space provided by Luke. Greg said you were a pro since you had to do his IronPig spindles! :D

Back to sandblasting discussion...I talked with the referral Darin posted in Jon's thread and he is closer to the $800 range for the 45. He was very open and helpful, saying it could be much less but obviously, can't give a "hard" estimate before seeing the work needed.

He also said the $200-300 is a low ball and should be "thrown away".

Regarding this HAMOM, it looks like we will have reasonable weather, possibility for some showers but good temps in the mid 60's.

I'm hitting as many areas on the 45 with PB as I can find to help with the dismantle. I'm trying to get my garage in some sort of order so work can be performed without having to work around my mess. I made sure I've got filled bottles for the welders, plenty of wire and other misc accessories. I want to pick up a few more hole cutters for tubing notching for the tire carrier builds. I've got a box of box of zip locks for bolts/parts and such for the 45 dismantle so I can keep track of things a much as reasonable.

Have a double batch of my chili planned, deli meat sandwich platter, chips and beverages planned for lunch. Am I missing anything?

Sorry guys I will not be making it up there this weekend, gotta finish moving my wifes mom outta her apt and into our house....
