Still planning on a late arrival Friday night (~midnight). I shouldn't say it, but it looks like the weather is going to work out. Sunday may be a wash depending on when/if the rain comes in.

For Saturday night, do you all typically do a communal dinner? I'll contribute if so, or will make you all jealous while I eat my ramens all by myself.

Looking forward to it!

You beat me to it. Yup weather is looking dry!!

So who all is in?

Normally we just kinda do whatever is easiest and right now it's looking like eating out is easiest - at least to me. South Pittsburgh has a lot to offer in the way of restaurants and not having to bring a lot of camping crap is one of the perks of hitting a park local to town.

Sundays is usually bug out time, pack up and get the heck outta town. Last time we were up there we stopped at the local Cracker Barrel for b-fast before hitting the road.

jasper weather.webp

I'm 90% sure I'm in. Any issues with teenage kids? If some of ya'll are camping, we may head up Friday evening as well.

If we show up late Friday, do we only pay for riding on Saturday? Is there a fee for camping? I didn't see one on the site.

no issue with teenagers, in fact they make good cable pullers!!

Yeah, pay for riding Saturday and I think camping is only $5. I suspect by the time I/we get there the office will be closed so just pay on Saturday morning.

I confirmed with AOP last week that late arrivals simply need to check-in first thing Saturday morning and pay the camping/riding fee (can't remember what the camping fee was though). I thought I was going to have a passenger, but its his daughters B-day on Saturday. Thus, I'll be solo.

well shiite, I was just thrown a major league curve ball!!! Have a 100 Cat5e cable project that has to be completed by Friday evening. this usually takes weeks to sort out but new tenant dropped the ball and is moving in on Saturday. I'm still going but might be late Fri night or Sat morning before i get there.

I am out for trip, leaking radiator and surgery yesterday don't mix well.

Surgery on the leaking radiator or on you? Everything OK?

Yes I am OK. Had hernia surgery. I am pretty sore and tired. And yes a new Radiator is going to be put in. Not worth screwing around when the 4runners are known to have radiators go bad with dreaded milkshake radiator mess

Is anyone planning on going up tomorrow night? If not, what time does everyone expect to arrive Saturday morning?

I am still planning on going Friday night as long as others plan to be there. If not, I'll show up Saturday morning when everyone else plans to get there.

I should be there Friday around noonish . I believe one or two more are coming Friday also . If not I guess it will be just me but I have plenty of beer to keep me occupied .

TGreco I think you're much better off going up Friday if you can.

I'm further along with my project than anticipated but don't think that's gonna mean much. Not packed, truck aint on the trailer so still gotta do all that, there's an outside chance I get up there tomorrow night but won't know until mid afternoon tomorrow at best. If all else fails John and I are gonna caravan up there and should be there before 9 AM CST.

who haven't we heard from? There's Patrick and his little bro, Hendog???? what's up?

Roger that. I'll be there late Friday. What are you driving so I don't pull up next to a bunch of strangers even though I technically will? I guess as long as I have beer, nobody is a stranger.

lets see ya probably need to look out for Rockey (FJCrawler) and Cory (86Chevota), both have 1st Gen 4Runners, rockey's is Zebra striped and Corys' is a grey, dent free with red roll cage.

Sounds like those will be easy to pick out. I'll be in a white first gen pickup in case you are wondering who pulls up late night.

Looking forward to seeing everyone and hopefully keeping mine dent free as well. With that said, dents add character and make for better stories.

They will probably be the only Toyotas there too. Be easy to spot.

According to Facebook, HENDOG is leaving the dream, heading to King of the Hammers!

Yep Henry's gone. Aidan and I will be there early Saturday morning. Aidan may only be riding with me, not sure yet. And hopefully we'll have another guy and truck with us. He said he'd get back to me on Friday.

I'll be there too! I'm that "other guy"^^

on the way bitches!! It's early but I expect to have a cold one waiting for me.

what the hell is a flammable fish anyway?
