Country Fried Weekend in Dahlonega, GA Jan 18-20

It's a potluck type event, where most bring chili, venison, bbq, mac & cheese, etc... Last year we did over 100 miles during the day in the scenic highways and FS roads of north GA. This is definitely a "something for everyone" type event, with no hardcore wheeling and a family and dog friendly environment. This year, the Saturday ride will be a little shorter, so that we all get back in time to prep dinner.

This is a good opportunity to show what a great club UC is. We'll bring the big UC canopy and cook up a feast.

DETAILS: The campground is charging only $5/person/night and it is primitive type camping. What that gives us is a giant private field, a place for a fire, a covered pavilion with no walls, a porto-pottie or two, and 270 degree views of mountains. There's a full bath-house somewhere on property. It's a sweet area and also has horseback riding.

Date: Jan 18-20 (some folks may show up as early as 17th)

Man I had a blast. Good times around old and new friends. Josie came as well and well I decided not to go trail riding on Sat but go into town and spend time with her. We ended up panning for gold and gem stones. Found a little of everything. Also got a really cool map that has every trail in north Georgia on it. We will need to hit this area up again sometime this summer. Great campsite as well.

Where did you get the map?

From the grocery/gas station at the corner of hwy 60 and hwy 180. It's an easy to read map, but the scale is not exact, so tracking with a GPS is helpful. This USDA map has almost everything, but the country store map showed a lot more connections that aren't indicated on the FS map.

Man was it cold in the mornings!
We still had a great time. Good to see some old faces and meet some new.

Saturday AM we did a "figure 8" loop down Cooper Gap Rd, then over to Hawk Mtn, down Winding Stair Gap Rd, up FS28 to FS15 to Gaddistown Rd.

On our way home, we did the Flatlands/Cooper Creek loop. Perfect clear skies and increased visibility in the woods made for a great weekend of exploring.

Rick make the video available on mobile...

Gabe,
I've looked through some of my video settings on my YT account and cannot find what settings affects mobile browsers. Anyone have a clue why some videos are not available on mobile browsers? Is it the ad revenue settings?
