This is definitely a "something for everyone" type event, with no hardcore wheeling and a family and dog friendly environment. This year, the rides will be all FS roads, and we typically run for several hours before heading back to camp.

It's a potluck type event, where most bring chili, venison, bbq, mac & cheese, etc... you don't have to feed "everyone", but bring enough to share.

This is a good opportunity to show what a great club UC is. We'll bring the big UC canopy and cook up a feast. Last year Marshall brought the UC canopy and the 3-burner stove for our crowd to gather under. We got a tent site that had 120V power and lived well despite the 20* temps.

This event started a few years ago by a few guys on Expedition Portal and evolved into a popular gathering to fry turkeys and sit around the fire. The regional group is called South Eastern Expedition Society (SEES) and there are bunch of good guys and gals in the group. Not all Toyotas, but they do make up the majority it seems.

The weekend is pretty laid back, no sponsors, no vendors, no raffle, no swag bag, no registration fees. They don't even really like to call it an "Event". The offroad trips are led by locals familiar with the FS roads and there is usually a few different groups broken up into how long you want to be on the road (all day vs. quick coupla hours) It's really just an organized, really large camp out.

The only thing you need to do is cover your own camping fees. $20/night for a regular campsite and $30/night for one with power; $5/truck for day-trippers (potty fee). Sharing of sites is allowed, but try to keep it within reason (2 tents/vehicles per site).

If you are interested in going, it would be polite to sign up over at Expedition Portal and introduce yourself. You will need to register with the site before being able to view the thread.

I am a maybe on this one. Truck not idling right and no funds to pay to fix it if i can't figure it out.

Well idle is good now so Gimpey+5. Can we get campsites with power if we are tent camping? Want to run a ceramic heater in the tent at night.

Me too. I also emailed them.

Just signed up on the portal and I can't wait! JP you wanna get a site together?

If anyone has any luck getting a response from them let me know. Really want a site with power.

I agree but got to get reservations 1st. I also am considering the doorhouse.

Okay so the guys over on Portal say the campground is closed for the season, hence why they aren't getting back with you about reservations. :hillbilly:

They also said no need for reservations for this event, just show-up and pick a spot when you get there. Works for me

10-4 sounds like a plan.

Guess i need to pick up a buddy heater in case i can't get a spot with power

As I recall, only the "primitive" sites at the top of the campground are non-power. Sites 1-27 I think all have power. And we can double up and share sites (2 vehicles/site). Me and Marshall are splitting a site.

Cool Rick, you think you guys can scoop up 2-3 sites for our group when you get there? It'd be nice to have our own little UC section plus I want to be close to Marshalls grill :grinpimp: I imagine I will be arriving after all ya'll, bit of a drive for me
