I went camping at burnt Ranchero campground in Laguna this weekend. It's really nice up there. So, I will not be going camping this coming weekend on Saturday. For anyone that does go up there, it is the best campsite that I am aware of in Laguna Mountains and well worth the trip up there.

So wish we could make this. We just moved and the cruiser blew the exhaust mani gasket just before so I'm still wading through boxes and the engine is partially distributed about my work bench. Take pics and we will try to make the next trip.

Bob,

Correct, I do have AHC so I can pretend to have a lift! I'll get those running boards off.

Cool camp setup SanDiegoCruiser! Thanks for the heads up on Mt. Laguna camping, I've been curious about camping there since I'm always up there mountain biking. What kind of dogs are those?

They are a Japanese breed called Shiba Inu. This was their first time camping. I Mtn bike ride noble canyon in the Lagunas once in a while.

Anyone mind if I invite one of my friends who is a Jeep guy? He has a nice CJ-7.

More people equals more fun in my book...

Yep, I agree. Jeeps will make it interesting to watch!

Thanks guys! I just got the word from him that he can't make it. For some reason he thought it was more important to celebrate his anniversary this weekend with his wife :roll eyes:

I'm sure he'll be down for some other trips, he goes out all the time.

trying to make it as well. cruiser is down so i'll be in the 4runner.

I'm in as long as you guys have room for one more 80! Walmart at 9am right?

Yep, Walmart at the link above - 9am. Bring some lunch to eat out on the trail. I'll have a fridge for stuff if anyone needs it.

For those running CB, let's try Channel 24. HAM simplex is 146.58 as listed above. Call my cell if needed. Six one nine 743 four seven seven 8 if you get lost or are running late.

My Saturday freed up. I am planning to join the trail run. See you tomorrow.

For anyone who misses the Walmart meeting spot, and want to meet us at the trail head, it is off hwy 8 at the "In Ko Pah Road" exit, about 72 miles east of San Diego.

Can we get off at the main Jacumba off ramp before we head to the trailhead? I want to top off on fuel. My 40 can be a little thirsty....

Sure. That is one before In Ko Pah Rd. You can also fuel up at The Walmart meet up point if needed.

I am running 15 mins late. Craig

We had a nice turn out today. 9 rigs got to experience valley of the moon and Table Top.

Here is the Route (Note, we drove in/out of Valley of the Moon Twice to pickup some fluids to fix a mechanical issue on the FJ-40..)

thanks again craig for organizing another run. it was nice to meet everyone. please let me know when you plan to go back to big bear or elsewhere for that matter.
here is a link to the info about Lake Alpine in the Sierras and the Slickrock Road next to it that i was talking about. it says the trail is difficult but i don"t remember anything that a 100 couldn't do except the "playground" area off the trail.the end of the trail has a staircase obstacle but can be avoided by turning around. beautiful campground area and very scenic yet short trail.
