The best mats I ever had , had nothing to do with Toyota and the used Australian Toyota ones I got for free, were junk IMO.

Those are actually the best oem mats available , I love them and everytime I find sets in Europe I am buying them .These are way nicer then the rubber mats and on long drives will give you less fatigue on the "accelarator" heel because they are nice and soft
Where do you find them sets in Europe? Our suppliers say they can not order it and the have no record of a part number. It's really odd, Toyota has part numbers for everything, but not for these mats.

The only OEM mats I could source so far are these and they fit well and are properly aligned with the anchors/holes:

They come out of new cruisers where they then put rubber mats in so these are new take offs

I’ve got that exact set and I’m not overly impressed.

We've been making our own for the 70s.....they're great.....securely anchored on both sides using OEM hold downs.

I've switched over to this hex pattern as it's easier to get in bulk.

I know they don’t look like expensive “Overland” apparel but they are smooth and soft and those rubber mats start hurting after the first 500km of the day

Best mats I have ever found in a 70 series especially for longer drives

I agree totally. My reference was directed more towards durability. Mine are practically new and they’re already “shining up“ where the heal of your shoe rest. (a result of the softness I suppose). 😊

They all do that it seems like. Rubber is no better than carpet when it comes to heel marks.

I decided to “up my game” and install a custom set of floor mats. My heel sits just above Marge’s blue hair. 😁

I had some OEM looking LHD mats in the FJ73. They are made by Skiner Industries in Colombia.

These are also made by Skiner and seem to have those fixing points:

Way, way back before the pandemic started. I asked for two sets of the new Skiner mats (just for the hell of it) to be shipped and what felt like many years later...they finally arrived. They are decent but nothing like what I remember having in the FJ73 in terms of thickness. Just wanted to update this post and tell others not to bother trying to get these mats. They are not worth the effort and I won't be keeping these as I already have better ones since then. I am done exploring different mats and have been for awhile but wanted to update this post since these came in.

Photos of test fit. Again these are LHD universal mats, not RHD mats so fitment may look odd. Again, not worth the time and effort for these. Don't do it.

In my quest to find some LHD 76 floor mats I came across these:

They are represented nicely on the photos. But I’m a bit wary of the price which is on the high end for non-OEM not proven mats.

I have the cargo mat that looks like the one shown in the link you provided but mine came from Japan. I love to use it if I will haul anything that might leak fluid or dirt....keeps the carpet looking new. I remove it and hang it in the garage when not using it.

Hello again! I took a chance and ordered the LHD floor mats from AliExpress for Ali, my HZJ76 in Dubai. They were shipped and received quickly.
@John Young was kind enough to pick them up and put them inside Ali. His comments: "The ones for the front fitted extremely well The one for the back is fine I think it might need to be just allowed to settle; The quality is actually pretty good too".
They are stiff like ABS plastic, but seem to be molded to fit the space. I'm quite happy. Perhaps @John Young will have a chance to take another set of pictures in the sun at some point.

I wonder if the front ones would fit the old 75 series? Or if they sold them for the 75 serial
I think the floor pan has been unchanged over the years, but please don't quote me on that. We should get a specialist to comment, perhaps @SNLC or @OGBeno could confirm 100%. But honestly @John Young is planning on trying them in Iota (his FZJ75) when Iota gets painted so if you're not holding your breath you might see how they fit in some days, weeks, or months... ;)

I don’t really know if these above fit or work with such and such Cruiser.

I have fit FJ60 carpet mats to a 1990’s vintage 70-series and they fit well. In fact gave tons of coverage, probably more than a standard 70-series mat. The brown also matched 1990’s 70-series brown.

Cheers

I meant more along the lines of with your experience whether you've seen any differences in floor pans between old and new 70 series... Since you've welded one or two ;)

Not much that I recall.

We have 1990’s gen here and a 2018 so I could certainly take some pics and measurements if that helps?

Cheers
