Hi everyone,
I've been having a long-term issue with my Land Cruiser J100 1999 4.2 TD AT – the engine has weak performance during acceleration.
When I press the gas pedal all the way down, the engine revs start to jump and it can’t downshift properly.
However, if I press the gas pedal gradually, everything works fine.
I've replaced the air filter, disconnected the air box, installed a new fuel filter, and cleaned the fuel line from the tank, but nothing helped.
There is no MAF sensor.
Thanks for any advice.

Most on this sub will be more familiar with the US spec 4.7 (petro). You might want to post this in the diesel / 24v sub

Is the check engine light on and have you tried to pull the codes from the OBD reader?

yes, I read the OBD and everything is fine and no errors code
From my experience working on 1HDFTEs and loss of power and OBD is not seeing any errors, more often than not it’s the high pressure fuel pump injection assembly. But do not take my word for it, do you due diligence in checking/troubleshooting everything fuel line-related.

Do you think I should clean the injectors with ultrasonic cleaner?
Yes, that’s an effective way to service them. YouTube has a lot of DIY video walkthroughs on how to properly clean diesel injectors as well.

Check the small black hose going to the MAP filter and MAP sensor at back of manifold. Make sure the filter isn't cracked either
