Hey everyone,

I want to first and foremost thank everyone for all the amazing information I have viewed throughout the forums prior to making an account of my own. However, it seems as if my current issue with my 2006 LX470 is unique to those posts already made.

My overhead center console had power up until this Monday. I attempted to set up my homelink to my new garage door, but the power was lost to the overhead console. Not only do the lights not work, but now neither does the homelink system. I found the 4 clips and the bolt to dismantle the console from the ceiling, but am unsure how to proceed after I get it off. I am planning on using my multimeter to check that the connections from the battery have power and will also check the fuses. Are there any other possibilities where the power could be lost that I'm not aware of? For instance, a connection from the fuse box to the overhead console?

Download the EWD from the Resources section. Page (1) has the light circuits on it. Everything is connected to the Body ECU through the DOME relay. Check there first.

FWIW, the EWD has a circuit troubleshooting guide for every circuit in the truck.

You can download the entire FSM if you want, but I wouldn't, unless I had nothing better to do with my time.

You have my sympathies. I suspect the problem with the Homelink transmitter is a wiring/relay problem connected to the physical switch, and not a transmitter problem per se, based on your coincidental lighting problem.

do you know of a free website to download the EWD?

Will someone please rename that forum something that means something to the massess?

Update: I swapped the fuse, upon inserting the new one, it automatically blew. I took apart the overhead console, disconnecting the two relays in there (dome lights, homelink, not sure what else). The fuse still blew despite both of these relays being unplugged, so i assume there is a short somewhere else in the wiring. Anyone have any ideas how to proceed? Rather annoying to have to use my key to lock/unlock, no garage access, or lights.

Use the diagrams I gave you and find the junction that connect the fuse block to the body ECU. Unplug each of them and ensure the terminals in both sides are clean. If they're not, use CRC contact safe cleaner to clean them. Check between both ends for continuity, according to the EWD.

There is no shortcut.
