Personally, I wouldn't purchase a vehicle from a neighbor, regardless whether it's a good or bad deal. But that's just me.

This would be my 4th time buying from a neighbor. Always been great. But that’s just mePersonally, I wouldn't purchase a vehicle from a neighbor, regardless whether it's a good or bad deal. But that's just me.
It’s 141K, supported by the local dealership service paper trail back to purchase. No suggestion of a swap. And yes, I checked the VIN on the invoices.Just from the condition of the seats.. it is not 142k miles. Mine was 100% in west texas and even at 250K miles, the seats are far superior from what you have there. Either they swapped seats to another or something.
If you find any cracks on the fan blade, replace it with AISIN (rockauto). to baseline a landcruiser you are look at top $. I did mine and is happy that I got a reliable LC but it is expensive...
That's pretty much what I was going to say. I personally wouldn't buy it for $8k because I believe there are better deals out there. Even if you pay $12 you could easily have $16-20 into it before long.I'm not sure if I'd honestly spend 8k on it, let alone 16.
It looks solid and rust free, but between that interior, the brake dust on the wheels, the damaged fenders, and scrapes and bruises, plus it's gonna need a TB...
IDK I think I'd pass. You can find a much cleaner 03+ for 16k.
Rust-free, known maintenance history, and trusted seller with no shipping or auction fees to add? Show me that magical truck and I’m on it!You can find a much cleaner 03+ for 16k.

What are we looking at here? I’m new to the V8.
PCV burping up oily vapor? Maintenance records say the PCV and valve cover gaskets were replaced 20K ago, but if that is the PCV, the hose was barely attached and is nearly clogged.
That needs more than detailing. Bodywork or fender replacement isnt cheap. Paint isn’t cheap. Redoing the leather isn’t cheap.Just caught up on this thread. 16 is too high - 12 is livable, for the low miles. Still needs a lot of detailing and cleanup. You might create a list of all the needs (real ones) and prices, in case the seller won't budge. If he won't, then walk.
The leather looks similar to Aaron's when I got it. Some people have acidic perspiration, and it just destroys leather. I just purchased seat, armrest, and center console skins from Hotrod Upholstery to fix mine. I would say seat leather replacement is an 80 to 90% guarantee on just about any year of these 100's. No rust is the one really true positive with this cruiser, which means it can be what you ultimately want it to be. It may take money, but you can get there. Best of luck!I want to say thanks again to everyone who responded. Based on what I heard here, I have an offer in mind to discuss with the seller that takes the bigger maintenance items into acct. I hope my next post is about my plans my 100. I didn’t mention, but the test drive was butter smooth on a variety of surfaces.
Congratulations! Welcome to the dark side!…and it’s mine. Negotiated a fair price, looking forward to re-joining ‘Mud in the hundy forum.
