Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone can really sum up for me what a J Spring is. Im not really sure of myself when I hear someone mention they have a 3" J Spring. I would love for my LX450 to look like this one

It has 3" J springs. What would I have to do to get a lift like that? Please include details in the lifting process like price, steering linkage extensions, anything like that. Thanks.

J springs, L shocks, Caster Correction, I recommend going with a 1-2" bolt in spacer on top and then using a caster plate for caster correction. Get the new steering stabilizer while you are at it. And you will want to extend your brake lines, may as well go stainless. You may need a DC driveshaft for the front. I did not, however a lot of folks do need them. Air tools are nice for the install but not necessary. A tie rod puller helps to get the old steering stabilizer off. And if you go caster plates you will need a grinder to grind the axle housing mounts a little and the top of the control arms. Generally, it takes about a day to do all this.

It has J's with 1.5" front spacers, setting at 5" overstock, OME caster correction bushings are not enough, but drove it that way for 1.5 years . For a level 3.5" lift, on a close to stock weight truck, run J's in the front and heavy's in the rear with L shocks all round.

Forgot bump stop spacer in the back to prevent overcompressing shocks.

Same in front if you don't do the bolt in spacer.
 
Alright well looks like J Springs are a bitch much for me since my rig is just a 90% on road daily driver. Ill be using it for hunting mostly. What about coil spacers? I had a 2.5 inch front coil spacer on my Tundra that was made out of a plastic. Do they make those for the LX450? And has anyone ever used them? Pros and Cons if anyone has had experience or knowledge.

Problem with spacers is you're not getting a higher spring rate - with the taller rig, you get more lean with stock spring rate.

There are plenty of OME options for 2.5" lift.

I'd just go with an OME 2.5" spring. And that you can get away without doing any caster correction usually. I say usually because ever rig is different.

Capo, do you plan on an ARB or other custom front bumper, Slee or Hanna or other custom rear bumber, sliders, drawer system for the back and etc, or do you intend to go with a lift and tires and hit the trail? I ask because the amount of junk you intend to hang on your rig influences your choice of springs.
