Thanks for the link - its a little tough to see what's going on there if you haven't done or haven't seen these parts.
My previous searches of a m8000 installed in an ARB came up empty - so I posted the question. I'm no stranger to the search function. The reason I asked is because no one has posted (that I can find) about specifically the m8000. I'm assuming these winches have subtle differences between each model excluding the obvious (their pull rating). From what I see and have experienced - this doesn't bolt up without some modification or fabrication which is slightly disheartening because Warn and ARB both say it mounts right up.
If I remember correctly treerootco mounted his behind the grill somewhere. He has the Slee shortbus and a 9.5 Warn winch, might try a search...

Sorry I was not trying to imply that you should try searching because it was a stupid question, etc. I couldn't think of the thread that treerootCO posted in so I thought I would suggest searching under his threads... I found it: https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-...us-alternate-winch-solenoid-mount-option.html

Maybe that will help?

One end of the bracket mounts to the bottom of the solenoid box and the other end bolts in to the holes behind your license plate. Easy as pie.:D

Mike,

I probably have a bracket in the shop somewhere if you don't find yours.

Cheers,

Michael

You can run it up in the engine bay right in front of the battery. Thats where I put mine... Cleans up the front of the truck a bit, and keeps people (or debris) from messing with it.

That's prurty darn nice...almost like mine...

look'in good. I turned my non-winch mount bumper into a concealed winch mount. It has a Warn 9500 tucked up in there with about a 3/8" plate welded to the inside...that makes for one thick deer smacker if you include the thickness of the ARB.

I'd like to get rid of the roller fair lead and go with the winchline style like you have. Looks much smoother, but seems I'm in rocks mostly my winchline might get chewed up so probably the cable is the better option for me.

Good idea - I tried it- there is too much "stuff" under the hood.

Now that's a slick bumper. From what I understand - the synthetic line is more durable, safer and lighter than the steel cable. The only reason why I have it is because I bought the whole set up used.

Nothing like getting like new stuff for a decent used price! You'll have to let me know what you think of the blue line/synthetic line.

Rodney's Wholesale Transmission, Extreme Valve body and torque converter addition!

Well - It's official. I'm F'n nuts! Certifiably Cruiser Crazy. I don't know if any of you guys follow the 100 series tech section but I had started a 100 build thread there then sold the 100 out of no where. The reason being, I had purchased a Wholesale tranny, extreme valve body and torque converter from West Coast Cruisers (North American dealer).
Now granted the rig is still learning my driving habits - but it's even more of a rocket ship. When you step on the gas, it down shifts so quick and accelerates almost instantly where before it would "spool up" before really finding the right gear and taking off. Believe it or not - off the line up to 50 MPH it pulled from my v8 Touareg - 50-80 is a totally different story.

Before the extreme valve body was installed, there used to be this "space" or "void" when the transmission was asked to drop a gear and go. Even on steady acceleration there was a "gap" or "lag" in the transmission between 2nd and 3rd gear. It would make you lunge forward because of the lack of G forces when accelerating. BUT NOW.... it throws you back in your seat further. The shifts are sharp and crisp. The best way I can describe it would be; when you are riding with someone who can't drive a m/t very well and doesn't find the gear quickly vs. riding in a M3 with paddle shifters.
