glass or plastic lenses? Those would look great on my truck :hhmm:

Nice thorough job on the carpet and sound deadener...way to go.

Gotta love the IPOR skid, did you have to notch for the slider outrigger/ubolt on the front right?

I did, but I have side by side cats so IDK if it's different.

Looks great!

Fun trying to find out where to drill the holes for the mounting bolts of the AC Dryer skid huh?

Your rig looks awesome! If your buddy is considering making some more drawers, I would like to talk with him about them for my FJ . I am up north in monterey but go down south all the time and will actually relocate to the OC pretty soon. Miss surging in baja. Did you sell those american racing wheels? I want to replace my steel wheels and am planning on upgrading my lift to a 4" and slightly larger tires 295/315 w/ a re-gear. That SC is sweet.

Plastic lenses - everything I see is plastic.

the cleaning and insulating is definiately noticeable and I'm very glad I did it. The only consequence being really hot inside the vehicle - it was 40* and sunny in Julian 2 weekends ago and 90 in the LC with no heat on. Hopefully it keeps the cool air in too.

I didn't have to notch anything. The hardest part about the IPOR plate was bench pressing it into place while a friend bolted it up. But I don't have side by side cats- so that's probably why.

I thought the AC Dryer skid install was up there with the CDL switch install.... pretty easy. But there was a guy present who had done it on his rig already.

To be honest, he built those drawers with just a circular saw, drill and a belt sander in 12 hrs time. He was out here on a mini vacation, he is from Ohio, like me.

I traded those wheels and tires for a popup tent camper (im about to build up) and 2 new firewire surfboards. The guy I traded works for Firewire and had a "few" laying around his garage.

panhards and 1" spacers

Just a little update with some cruiser porn for ya. Got the slee panhard bars installed front and back.

Also added some 1" wheel spacers on all four so I don't rub while wheelin anymore. The stance is a lot more aggressive - I like it. One thing I don't like is the unbalance the spacers created. At freeway speeds it's got a little shake. It's either 1 of 2 things - one of the spacers are unbalanced or one of my wheels are. I'm guessing the spacer as my rig never had a shake before today.

Since the wheels are hub centric and you now have spacers taking up the space on the hub you will need to balance the wheel to the spacer. Best way I learned to how is to use 3 conical wheel lugs and bolt the wheel up. Once that is done use the normal lugs and tighten. Then you can take the conical lugs off and place the rest on. Works like a champ.

X2 with the conical lugs. I start with 3 conical lugs and tighten up, then follow with the 3 OEM lugs and tighten, and then replace the 3 conical with the remaining 3 OEM lugs and you are done!

And Mike, those wheels look huge!

MIke,

No problem. I will figure out a shelf system even if i have to make one myself. Good trade for the boards!!! I could use some new boards too. The pop up tent is the ONLY way to camp. I brought one back from Venezuela and it is the bomb! We'll have to surf/wheel soon. I'll be dropping some big $$ into my rig in the upcoming months. A baja trip could be in order for late summer/ early fall!

Regards,

Greg

Mega Millions Winner? I envy you

I take it that this was before spacers...

New exhaust by Wholesale Performance Muffler

I have to preface this mod with an issue regarding SC lag. She was running ok and still pulling up inclines, but lower end power had suddenly taken a dive. Even John at SD Trux said she wasn't jumping off the line like it had previously and suggested there might be something wrong with the exhaust. The seed had then been planted...

I found Wholesale Performance Muffler through 2 separate referrals; VC Cruiser and his neighbor have Tony's system and a friend told me about him. I stopped by on a Wednesday and spoke with him for 20 minutes while he looked over my rig. He remembered doing VC and his neighbor, (even remembered they got different series magnaflow) quoted me an unbelievable price and said come back Friday. I dropped my LC off in the morning, confirmed what the gameplan was with Tony and off I went.
I came back at 5pm and my rig was done. Here are some pics of the final product.

I chose a 2.5" pipe with a 50 series Magnaflow muffler. Tony turned the cats for a little more clearance, while in the process he inspected the cats and ok'd them.

I could immediately tell the difference in performance. Although I'm debating on taking it back and swap for quieter 70 series as the 50 is a bit loud.

WagonGear Tailgate Mod

So I did it. I cut my rig, albeit just the tailgate... it was still hard to do. Unlike the install to WagonGear's 80 series tailgate found here... Tailgate Lids. From ordering to shipment to install - it was all easy. Kevin has a great product here (for those that don't already know). The directions are on point and make it even easier. I snapped a few photos for visual stimuli.

First you take off the carpet..

Then you place the template
