I use my lx as and bought it with the idea to be an approach vehicle. Works great in this role.

At this point, the price I’m paying for this 2008 LX570 is $18k. It’s financed through them. Is there no price they can offer me (within reason for them) to consider keeping the deal if the rust is minimal?
I understand that I can probably find much cheaper prices through private sales (I consistently do), but the few I have attempted to complete have left quite a bad taste in my mouth. I have reached a point where I would rather pay a premium to have the time and the option to walk away if things feel wrong.
The rust is apparently underneath a coating.WTF. I don’t see any rust. Is this April 1?
I was leaning towards that.Run.
Not terrible overall, but there is definitely some good rust on the AHC hardware. If you were in the rust belt, I'd say fine, woolwax it every year and run it into the ground. But since you're in the desert, I would move on and get a better one.
^^^ This.Have you driven both the LC200 and LX570? Most enthusiast types will have a strong preference between the two. Despite their overall similarity, they do each have their own driving character. If you haven't already done so, drive both before picking. But if you're an LX guy, or genuinely neutral, then option 2 looks best on paper. There is no real difference between a 2008 and a 2010. 2013 was the first meaningful update.
That’s what made me think it was “rode hard”^^^ This.
In addition, in CO we typically see a $10k premium for a LC over an LX with same year/miles - which would make me wonder about the condition of the LC above, even with the 100k mileage difference.
Just a thought.
Hello. I’m folks.Mind you, I used to average 50-60k per year - just because I like to drive and what's a 500 mile round trip for lunch at a nice BBQ joint?
But most folks ain't like that.
