Is there going to be a 50th anniversary, other than the fj cruiser? I did a search, found old info. I've convinced my wife into getting a 100 maybe in a year and I would like to know if anyone has heard anything on the 50th anniversary. I would like to know what all is going to be on it too. Anything?

Should be next year ('07 model) considering the 40th anniversary was w/ the 1997 80series (last year). Probably just badging and cosmetics, I would think.

It was in 2001! All of your 40ths are wrong. The 40th was 1991. Some marketers at Toyota NA can't do math. 1991-1951=40 2001-1951=50.

ya we had 50th anniversary LC in UAE ..year 01 .. nothing special .. only gold emblems and 50th anniversary badge on the front fenders ..

First Land Cruiser was imported into the US in 1958. That's why the 40th was in 1997. 40 years of being imported. As far as I know this was sold only in the US.

Well John I picked up a 2000 awhile back. It doesn't say 49th or 50th but It must be something special. It's loaded with V8, auto, full time 4WD, leather, Traction Control, etc, etc, etc......

Wait a minute that's the way they were all imported to the US:confused: Never mind:rolleyes: It does has the gold package and third row seats and we all know are rare those options are:rolleyes: The Tundra I traded in was nice be doesn't compare to the 100 series. It was either a LC/LX or a Sequoia for third row seats. After owning a Land Cruiser for over thirty years there was really only one choice.:)

50Th Anniversary Wagon Joins Landcruiser Range

4 July, 2001

Toyota has marked a special anniversary with the launch of a limited edition LandCruiser 100 Series 4WD wagon.

The 50th Anniversary LandCruiser 100 Series celebrates 50 years since the birth of the LandCruiser brand.

The new limited edition model is based on volume-selling eight-seat LandCruiser GXL petrol (manual and automatic) and GXL diesel manual.

Only 1000 of these vehicles will be produced.

Recommended retail prices are $59,320 for the petrol manual model and $62,110 for the petrol automatic model. The six cylinder diesel manual has a recommended retail price of $61,490.

For this price, the 50th Anniversary LandCruiser 100 Series has an impressive range of value-for-money features, including air conditioning.

Two exterior colour combinations are offered - Powder White with Light Greyish Beige Bumpers and Aqua Metallic with Pewter Bumpers.

Exterior appointments include "Royale" alloy wheels, large side protection moulding, front foglamps, chrome radiator grille, headlamp covers and "50th Anniversary" badge.

Inside, 50th Anniversary LandCruiser 100 Series has the additional features over LandCruiser GXL of Moquette velour seat material, floor mats, door courtesy safety lamps, driver’s seat vertical height adjustment and second-row seat centre armrest.

In addition, the 50th Anniversary limited edition model has a 3-in-1 audio system with 6-CD in-dash multi-changer.

This exclusive audio system replaces GXL’s 3-in-1 audio system original equipment with a single CD player.

The limited edition 50th Anniversary LandCruiser retains the LandCruiser 100 GXL standard features of dual SRS airbags, full-time 4WD with centre differential lock, limited slip rear differential, power-assisted steering, ABS anti-skid brakes with linear G-sensor, aluminium side steps, power windows with driver’s auto down, power mirrors and remote central locking.

50th Anniversary LandCruiser 100 Series is the third vehicle launched to mark the golden anniversary. The others are limited edition versions of LandCruiser Prado and LandCruiser 78 Series.

I guess because the 100 series that was being imported to the US had most these features or more they decide the US didn't need them. Leather seats, powerseats for both front seats, wide side molding, six disk CD player, fog lights, etc, etc...

I email toyota and asked them about the 50th in 2007 and told them I suggest solid axles and diff lockers and this is there response:

Thank you for contacting Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc.

We appreciate your interest in the Land Cruiser.

We apologize; we do not currently have any announced plans to introduce a 50th Anniversary Land Cruiser for 2007. We are, however, aware of consumer interest in this type of vehicle and have documented your comments at our National Headquarters under file #xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

Well I saw a 100 today with 50th anniversary/ limited edition badging. Is this fake or is there a such thing? I was told by toyota a few months ago there is no plans for it. Oh yeah the 100 was white. It looked kinda fake since the 50th edition was labeled on the rocker panels. It was also labeled on the back. I guess I need to carry a camara with me at all times.

I have an owners manual from Arabia that shows the different grades of LandCruisers, including the Limiteds

I've seen a couple of limited edition 100s in Kuwait.. both I've seen were FZJ100s with the I6 petrol engine.. they had a black badge above the back vent looking thingy on the side.. stainless steel step on the rear bumper.. cloth interior.. and little other things I can't remember now.. I believe both were 2000 models.. the limited edition badge had no anniversary or any number like the one above..
