I hope this isn't considered a hijack. I think it's related.

Do the rubber bumpers also keep the hood off of the rain gutter when the hood is flipped up. I hardly ever use the prop rod, and I'm marking the hood, and rain gutter when it's open.

thanks,
Guy

OKay..I'll call CCOT when they wake up today....both the short bumper and bumper b from above have 2 3/4 spacing....

Is the #9 gasket something I can make myself with some black rubber? Or do I need to buy the correct #9 gasket? How high is the gasket? Sorry for all the newb questions.....

Okay....I got CCOT on the phone and the guy said he had no clue since they don't offer the windshield rest for '65's.....I think i may have gotten the wrong guy on the phone...
The rest's I have are out of Toyota packaging with the part # 53334-60010........they fit the hood holes and from what I can tell I have the correct hood, windshield frame and wiper assy's....I think i'm going insane...or maybe just too ocd today...

I found the windshield gasket at CCOT (#9 from above) and decided I'll make one...The side profile is the same as fender beading used on my VW...;)....I would love to know how thick or tall the rubber should be however in case i need to make it thicker...
Thanks again for the help.....

I have a used one you could have

Not pretty but serviceable ;)

Anyone have a picture of the stops on a '65 fj40? I took the two rubber stops out of the package and put them in the holes today...then I tried laying down the windshield but had to put it back up because the wipers would have hit the hood.....??? the Rubber cushions I have arent the "stepped" later kind but the flat kind that look like a chocolate twinky.....

This is a 66 twinky style rubber bumper the windshield frame rest directly on the soft top channel on the bumper

That Looks like what mine should be doing.....Maybe the PO put the wiper motors in wrong? Are there any more pictures of yours I could see....I couldnt find any....

OK...I tried calling Mark but got the answering machine...I'll try back in a little while and leave a message if I don't get an answer next time...

So #1 protrudes forward enough to raise the windshield up when laid down?

Yes you got It, #1 protrudes and the whole frame rest on the old style bumpers this was meant for the older soft top models
If you are not running a factory style soft top It looks to me the later ccot 'B' style would work and rest ageist the windshield frame alone thats a question to ask Mark
