I’ve got a green 600. Just got it and ran it through the wash. Seems like hand washing poses equal or greater damage to the finish as a consistent-pressure, soft foam turning brush. No?

Automatic, "touch" car washes will absolutely destroy your paint. Expect not only fine scratches, but endless swirl marks. I run my LX through one on a regular basis, but only because it gets plenty of pinstripes on weekends, and I frankly no longer care about scratches, dents or chips.

If I had a new vehicle that I cared about there is zero chance I would ever run it through a "touch" car wash, or even a manual wash that wasn't at home. The brushes/bristles at local car washes destroy paint even if you're gentle with them. At home, do the two-bucket method with proper sponges, brushes, and other tools.

Or, go to automatic touchless car washes. They don't do a great job, but might be enough in Texas climate (ie. no snow/grime buildup).

And I've run mine through a car wash once or twice weekly, holding up fine. I hand wash and silicone wax every month or two.

It might eventually harm the paint... but I'm a surgeon, don't always have time for a 30-45 minute careful hand wash. Too convenient to take 5 minutes and run it through while sitting in the vehicle, answering pages or catching up on emails.

I run my black Land Cruiser through a touchless car wash frequently. Zero issues. I have never used the type that touches the paint as I frankly don’t think they do a very good job.
