Too far north. Too far east.
Saw this at the U-Pull this morning. Too bad it's on a solid axle Toyota. Crappy phone camera.

That front axle is probably under a 2nd gen, possibly along with the engine...

I suspect you are right. Those solid axles housings go fast. I've thought about grabbing one as a spare in case I bash mine up too much.

If you find some Aisin hubs next time you are there grab them for me. Every solid axle truck I have seen there has no front axle :o

How is the U-Pull in Santa Fe? Pretty good Toyota selection, or are they well picked over like the ones here?

Rory,

I always pull them if I see them. The yard in Santa Fe is much smaller, but occasionally they get good Toyotas. I've seen three FJ62s and one FJ80 there historically.

Anyone ever tried to just get bolts from a U-pull in town? I just want to go get a bucket or three of the reduced head JIS bolts stocked up so I can send them out for plating (I've already got a bucket, but need LOTS more).

Luckily I don't necessarily need them from a cruiser, or even truck--as any Toyota bolts will do, but I sure need a lot of the common ones to make sending them off to a plater worthwhile....

Everytime I have grabbed a part they seemed uninterested with the harware. I am under the impression they don't charge for it.

They used to list nuts and bolts on their price list, like fuses and bulbs. I can't find it now so I guess they don't anymore. I just make sure that when I buy something the hardware is attached whether I need it or not.

My standard practice is to throw any bolts, nuts, clips etc. that I pull during part extraction into the bottom of my toolbox/bag/pocket. I figure that $2 you pay to enter the yard pays for all those small parts that aren't on the parts list. Of course I always leave there at least $20 poorer (usually quite a bit more than that) so I'm sure it evens out. See if you can find some item with tangible value to buy and hope they throw in the hardware for free. I guess it depends on how big your buckets are.
