Oh I know, but to be on a "level" playing field, I'm just stating what came with the Ironman. The switch and harness will be used on my LX for the LED bar. That's two less things I have to buy when installing the bar.

The point is that the ARB is already 1182 shipped, plus another $80+ on lights, plus $50 or more for the harness and switch. That's up over $1300 when the Ironman was $1000. I like the ARB but can't justify a $300 difference when they're damn near identical. When the Ironman isn't on sale, it's closer to $1200 delivered, and at that point it's a much more difficult decision.

It comes with a switch, relay, and harness for the fogs. It is designed to stand alone rather than tie into the existing fog circuit. I'd rather use the switch on the stalk for those and save the panel switch for additional lights.

Ok thanks for the clarification, I would prefer that setup as well. So for that price it really seems like a good deal, though I would still prefer a tube style front bumper.

Edit: And thanks to Hoser, for responding about the Australian models, I wasn't aware of that but it makes 100% sense and explains why the switch isn't necessary on our models.

I emailed Cruiser Parts yesterday and got a reply very quickly. Ironman's website shows the US Distributor in Carson, California. I asked Cruiser Parts about freight to Utah and was quoted $140.00. (I gave them a friend's zip code as he has a forklift at his business.)

Awsome. I will ask if I can pick mine up from Carson when I visit Los Angeles around Thanksgiving. That is close to the Toyota headquarter. Will let you know.

So, price aside...which is the better choice between ARB and Ironman? Seems that the light kit is a bit better on the Ironman IMO. The bumpers look so similar overall. From a structural point of view, is one stronger than the other?

Currently trying to decide between ARB, Ironman and BIOR. Can't decide and prices are very similar.

A few small details that might be of importance...

-if you are using a feet forward winch (i.e. Warn M10k, M12K), you'll go with the ARB over the Ironman.

-ARB requires cutting of the lower frame horn mount. Ironman doesn't.

-The bar work on the ARB is lower in height but more substantial with the lower horizontal bars. The outer tubes pass down through the top of the bumper and welded to the lower portion.

-Ironman has internal reinforcements on the wings. I don't remember the ARB to have those so maybe somebody can confirm or deny. Ironman pictures...

The fact that the upper ARB bars pass through and are welded to the base is a major advantage I would think. Thanks for the info. That makes me wonder how the Ironman is designed though.

Major advantage for what? Neither are rated for rigging. If hitting large wildlife is a concern then probably the ARB would hold an edge, although you'd really need to look at the structure below. If the Ironman is gusseted then the forces/strength should be the same. The lower bar on the ARB does block using the bumper as a step if working on the engine.

If you're concerned about ultimate strength then you'll be better off going to a blueberry/bior/etc bumper.

Well, the ARB isn't welded 360 degrees around that bottom tube, just in one area that makes contact with the frontal skin.

Well, maybe not a major advantage...but does make the bumper sound more solid. And exactly that, wild life. So I'm with ya, I'd think the ARB would have a slight advantage in that area.

didn't read all this thread but i have the ironman commercial and am very pleased with it. Few pics next to an ARB that may help with your decision

Based on who has this bumper, it looks like it will but wanted to make sure.....no one has had any trouble fitting the Ironman on a pre-03 LX? Just asking because Ironman specifies 03-up. I am pulling the trigger on this next week.

No trouble on my 2001 LX.

So you didn't have any problem with the spacers not filling up the gap? I'm still curious as to what the fail was with Yuji's setup.

Don't think so, but I didn't put it on myself. I got one of the first two in country through Sierra Expeditions and Eli. They were going to use my truck to document the install process.

After I put my rear ARB bumper on next weekend maybe I will pull the bumper off to finish the plumbing, wiring and making splash shields for the compressor. While I am in there I will take a good look at how the mount lines up and how it is bolted on spacer wise.

I've been looking at an option from a brand over here called Tigerz11, their bullbars are around $350 I think. I was planning on buying one for myself for Christmas. It's not a huge investment, so if I don't like it I'll eBay it and get something better.

It could be an option for you guys if you did a group buy.

Tigerz11 are good guys who've made a business selecting and importing good chinese product. I've given their winch +rope a serious beating - stacks up well. Most of the Chinese bullbar product is similar to the (Chinese) TJM and ARB. I have a Powerful 4x4 deluxe winch bar ... You can source them yourselves on Alibaba if you will take a container load!

No problems on my 01 LX.

Also, I don't know if the changed the design, or if the 01 is a different frame, but I didn't install or need to install the spacer/washer things that I've seen others discuss. Wasn't mentioned in the instructions that came with the bumper either.
