Does woody have a thread for Iphone app problems? Here lately I've been getting a lot of push notifications, I'll get 5 or 6 for one message. Also the number on the icon in the red dot is way off. Saying I have 20 something notifications when I only have one or two.
The app has a new version out for the server-side. I need to upload it. It specifically addresses the push issue.
Unfortunately, I'm 1400 miles from home and my FTP attempts aren't connecting...have already contacted my sysadmin and hope to have it resolved tomorrow.

Pardon if this has been discussed, I didn't see anything in a search. Way too many iphone app threads here.
I have a newer app related issue that I've noticed coming up in the past few weeks. When I try to go back and edit a post or paste text from an outside source it pastes over the existing data and the final result when posted is incorrect. It's nearly impossible to edit whatever i type and I have to get it right the first time (not likely with my skills) Any insights?
I have deleted the old app and installed the new app.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the new app.

Is anybody else getting errors that say contact you administrator and them then Forum Runner is the issue?
It started this morning and has happened 3 times. I only get this when trying to upload pictures into an existing thread.
If nobody else is getting it, I will blame my my Iphone and the Awesome AT&T Service in the canyon I live in.

That said, I've been emailing with another provider for the app, and hope to have something ironed out with them in the next week. Unsure it's better or not tho, but at least it's not the same

I have been able to duplicate the problem a few times and I believe it is on my end.
I only get the error message when I'm using the wireless router. The wireless router is fed from a VPN type Satellite. I turned the wireless off and used the iPhone data package/normal and could not duplicate the problem.

i get the same with quite a few apps on my Droid....home wifi fails, switch to data and it works fine...

This is a bug in the latest version of the app. It will not recognize your post as entered text until you hit at least one carriage return.
The workarounds are to start every post with a carriage return or remember to hit carriage return before editing text.
the app basically sucks. It's full of bugs and doesn't support important features of the site like the ignore list. I don't use it any more.

B> however, the "only" other option out there isn't getting back to me regarding transferring setups...I've been chasing them for a week (they are not in the US) and it's proving frustrating.

D> I JUST discovered that the current iTunes app is from August 2012...meaning, the last update that released in Feb was not installed to the app store. Great. Yet another reason the current app developer is on my @#$% list.

I'd pay a little for a better app. $.99-$3. That's just me though. But I use the app almost as much as the site.
