Killer1954

Bob Bulleri. I live in Novato, Ca. We have a 1974 FJ40 that I bought in 1976 when I was 22. It remained bone stock until I met Mudrak a few years ago. Front disc axle swap, OME lift, 33"x12.50s. Power steering going in next week. Thanks Gary! My wife Trisha and I have been to a few meetings and swap meets. My first and only club run was McGrew last year. Totally cool trip, totally cool bunch of folks. My feelings of being an outsider lasted about 10 minutes. I had a blast. The 40 is my wife's DD. She loves it. Below, deep river crossing@Cow Mountain ;-)

This is my first time actually posting on this site but I check it out for info quite frequently. Brenda and Ryan brought me into the club. My first event was swap meet 2003 and I've been hooked ever since. My first actual wheeling run was McGrew 2004. It was a blast, everyone was great. I am probably one of the few in the club that doesn't actually own a Land Cruiser, I have a 1999 4runner. You'll most likely see me at only a few meetings per year dues to the distance and at the Swap meet, Fun Day and Surf n Turf. I'm glad to be part of such a great club. :)

Welcome Darin! I've helped Travis with his cruiser a few times over the last several months. I'm also signed up on the Thursday Breakfast run. If things work out, I'll be meeting up with him (and you too I guess) and driving up to Ice House together.

Looking forward to meeting you in person!

i've been a pmc member for a few years but have hardly attended any of the events or meeting. i do make it a point to go to the swap meet every year and have been going for many years, even when we had them back in sacramento....and yes, i did win 2 winches in a year and know that i'll never win again but i'll keep buying raffle tickets to support the event along with donating multiple raffle prizes every time.
i've been into cruisers for about 10 years now, most people know me by my pbb and mud name derived from my LV which i sold a couple of years ago. these days i have 4 or 5 cruisers but my prized posession is my troopie. i'll see y'all in a few weeks at the swap meet!

Hey folks,
I am a new member located down in Pacifica. Driving a 94 22re shortbed standard cab (IFS sucks) mini. Bone stock except for bumpers, sliders, skidplates, springs, gearing, locker and a header. Luckily it has a bench seat since i have two children.
The ARB (bumper and suspension) equiped FJ 62 is currently taken hostage and being driven to the mall by my recently ex wife and is unavailable to me.
I am on the fence about deciding if i should use a sawzall, rubber boot, roll bar and bolt in back seat to convert the mini to a "2nd generation convertable 4 runner" or sell it and buy an actual first gen factory 4 runner. I plan on doing the Rubithon friday morning 33" stocker run. See you there.

Hey All!!!

I've owned my 60 for 3½ years now but I'm just getting around to meeting some of the local LC community. I haven't done any wheeling yet(just light trails) and only attended my first swap meet last month(Stockton Rock Dogs). I hope to change all that this summer and look forward to meeting the PMC family at the swap in july and join in on some trails this year.

Happy Trails!

Tom

ps: Are raffle tickets available prior to the swap meet?

Hi, I finally joined PMC a couple months ago (at least the check cleared)
I'm the lucky sob that won the complete soft top at the Rubithon raffle. Pretty nice take. It's already ordered and looks like it would have cost me about $1000 after shipping. Very nice of STC to donate I think. This was my 1st Rubithon but I've been driving the Con since 1990 in much smaller groups. (5-25 rigs) My wole family had a blast and will be back next year, I think Tony does a hell of a job putting this together. And I have to say I had a blast at the Mauraders Bar Fri. nite.

I bought my '81 FJ40 brand new off the lot while I was still single. After getting married and starting a family we decided we needed to get a bigger car. I loved my old cruiser so much I figured the 60 would be a perfect family car(truck) that would last at least until the kids started driving. In 1989, with a 2 year old and the wife 5 months pregnant we found a 1987 FJ60 in the local paper and bought it. It had 18,000 miles on it and is now showing 194,000. Still driven daily.
My 15 yr old son wanted to drive my '81 when he started driving and I just couldn't stand that thought. I suggested we look for a 40 to fix up for him to drive to school and also something we could take on the Rubicon as (needless to say) we were outgrowing the one rig.I had no more room for racks. (I think I could give Woody a run for his money haulin' gear)

I found a stock 2/75 that was rust free but needed ALOT of tlc. From my experience I knew we needed P/S and disc brakes before he could even drive it to school so that was the first project to tackle. Danny Warden had done most of my mechanical work on the '81 and I knew I couldn't afford that so I would do this myself. Between LCML and ebay I got the rig together in about 8 months. '81 discs, mini truck P/S, "Ruststop Continental Blue" rattle can paint job and replaced all sorts of stuff that was missing including bezel, wiring harness, emblems and lights, and over half the bolts throughout the truck. Had the truck finished for Christmas 2002.
Within 4 months my son had run it out of oil :whoops:and it was time to replace the 2F with one I had picked up a few months earlier because I wanted the fan off of it. Of course with the motor out we might as well...put in an Orion, lockers, 4" lift, 4.56's with
35's. The kids now take it through the Con like it was built for it. I do plan on going from a mini ps to full saginaw in the next couple months.
I think that's enough for now. I'm looking forward to meeting more PMC members at the swap meet next week and maybe even trying to make it to a meeting some day.

, Don

p.s. I'll post some pics when I figure this out

'rubirnr' is the plate on my 'Rubicon 4Runner', which has been out of action for four years in an engine swap from hell. I picked up my current FJ40 only after one year into the 4runner project figuring that I would never see it again. The 40 has been Butch Built, Mudrak Improved, and Deckerated was great on the Rubithon this year. This was my 6th Rubithon and the forth that I drove. I was the one that won the Dewalt 18v impact wrench.

The attached image is me on the trail just after Buck Island camping area when I discovered that my alternator quit on me and my battery was at 11volts. Kilt-man is Chris Alger. That's Beanz2 in the white shirt and Docroh (on the P board) with some other great guys trying to get me over a bump so I can start the rig and get to shady flat space to swap out the alt. Yes, I had a spare.

I have been wheeling for about a decade now in all three Toyotas I own. I had the pleasure of taking the FJ62 into Deer Valley down from Hwy 88 recently. At least until I got stuck following the waypoints on my GPS. That was good for a healthy round of laughs amoung friends.

I joined PMC when Tony was trying to drive membership up, but I haven't participated in anything other than the swapmeet, which unfortunately, I will miss this year. Seriously considering the FJ45 run in Deer Valley again on Labor Day weekend!

How long of a drive from there to Hwy 299? Good friend of mine lives in Lewiston, I'll be heading up there for some fishing.
