Hey mudders!

Long time lurker, first time poster. I am currently still in the hunt for my first LC so no pictures today.

I grew up in the Midwest, working on cars with my step-dad who had his own shop but have lost a lot of the touch due to nearly two-decades of military service.

I currently enjoying camping with my young family and want to make it more regular with a vehicle capable of getting me out of established campgrounds. I have been spurred into action because my son recently claimed to enjoy working on cars with me and we do not have much else in common with his lack of interest in sports. What better way to accomplish my family goals other than buying an old 4WD?!

After almost a year of back and forth I have decided to find a decent 100 series and make it my personality.

I recently found a 2 owner, 2006 white LX with 120k miles. Everything looks great except some surface level rust underneath and some obvious fluid leakage around the control arms. My question to the group is: referencing the attached photos in the thread, what is a good amount to knock off to get this vehicle in tip-top shape?

They are asking $23.5k but appear motivated. California car its whole life and the CarFax is clean.

If the AHC working? Got one torn CV boot. Rust isn't bad at all.
Thank you. Seller claims AHC is working. My thought was the one CV was as well, but I am not knowledgeable enough yet to make that definitive assertion. Another member mentioned leaking shocks— thoughts on this?
