Fellas and Ladies,

Getting ready to do some manufacturing and looking into possibly getting into reproducing parts for fj60 and other series. Need your opinions on what plastic parts are needed out there. Fuse cover, door handles, etc. As soon as we get enough market response we will begin production, so look out for VOLK ENGINEERING website.

more like a restomod but what about a switch panel that would make use of the sandwich holder space?

I've been out of the injection molding business for a few years. But with the right connections and knowledge there are outfits in China that will reverse engineer and produce a cheap low volume mold for not much $ relatively speaking. The texture and color may not be perfect but better than nothing or 3D printed. We're talking smaller parts like bezels not the B-pillar covers that Jason addressed.

The math would have to be done to know if you would sell enough to recoup the investment. But it sounds like for some components we're talking about the majority of vehicles needing them.

And then there are custom parts like mentioned above but then you're leaving the world of reverse engineering and getting into molded parts design which will raise the cost significantly.

Bpillar covers are covered, right J? @reevesci

how about wiper bushings, for fj60-62 and fj55?

what about little things like VTVs and VCVs, VSVs etc...egr valves? what level of manufacturing are you guys doing? simple printing, molding with post process or full on assembled units?

here's one...distributor vacuum advance canister assembly...

how about pistons?

Wiper arm bezels that snap into the cowl.

Plastic trim parts that are part of the rear shoulder belts on 62 series. 60 series owners want these, and 62 owners that have broken ones

Instrument panel bezel.

IIRC, fj62 instrument bezels are still available from the late Mr Toyodas old company.

S,

I'm out of them right now and if there is a big enough demand I will make another round of them. Some guys would probably prefer the plastic over my steel ones though.

Right now we are able to start with small plastic parts such ac bezel. If there is not enough market for specific items we will leave them for custom orders . Eventually there is possibility of expanding to larger items if the demand is there.

To answer your second question we are going to be using 3D printing with post refining process. We also are able to do plastic molds with post process.

I’m usually a purist when it comes to my cruiser, but Jason’s B-pillar covers are the exception. This should have been how they came from the factory. Hands down, this is some of the best money I’ve spent. If repros were available, I’d still go with the TT covers.

As for the OP’s request... The HVAC switch bezel is a must have. You’d be crazy not to start there. Every other plastic interior bit has survived much better.

My wish list for non plastic interior parts would be a 60 dash pad. Not one of those snap in covers, but a a nice factory finished reproduction. Same thing for rear cargo panel covers.

Do you have a link for fuse panel cover?

Well it seems like you guys have voted on first reproduction item. Look out for website and distributors, as well I will post a response on here. We are going to be up and running in coming few months.
