Wow. You guys getting low numbers. Either measuring device is wrong or we really have quiet LCs!! Car mags usually rate around 64-74 dB. I have never seen a car below 64 dB.

I can try again later. My son has an Apple Watch like the OP. I was expecting mine to be worse since my suspension has several metal bushings instead of rubber, which I thought would add noise.

I think I know why it was so quiet: snow. This morning the road was covered in snow when we got that 55 decibel reading. So later in the day I drove on a dry pavement road and a snow covered road. The dry road was 60 or 61 decibels and the snow covered road was 55 or 56 decibels.

It's an apple watch lol. That's no way accurate and I'm not believing those numbers. Under 60 is measured Rolls Royce Phantom levels. Audi A8 and S-Class on highway tires going down the highway tires is 61-64 db.

KO2s and a LC200 is no way low 60s. Can bet it's at least +10-15%.

Given the MSRP, perhaps this is the RR of SUVs :cry::cry::cry:

I have no doubt the absolute magnitudes are wrong but the differences between them may be useful.

IF this is what noisy is with the KO2, then i am good...67 dB or whatever it is, it is quiet to my ears.

Close enough.

"The Apple Watch noise app is consistently within around 2 to 3 dB of the actual noise level."

"The Apple Watch Noise app is surprisingly accurate"

Update on my tire noise. Same Apple Watch. Similar road conditions as first post.

Mileage on LC: 30,611. Just had tire rotation. So, tire noise has remain the same the past 7k miles.

I will test my 285/70/18 RG today with my iwatch5. The iwatch is not as accurate compared to an actual pro decibel reader but it’s absolutely close. It’s been tested against the best digital readers and we are talking within 2db. That’s good enough for comparison. I would just add 2db to what the watch says. It may bounce back on 2-3 db in a 5min. period because the iwatch microphone is very sensitive.

In my test today, I will travel at 75mph in the fast lane(smoothest lane) with everything off(music, vents and no passengers).

See if you can go 80-82 mph just to compare with mine.

I was planning on hitting 82 as well. 😉
Hmmm it will be interesting…you are at a disadvantage i think……you have way more mods than me (lift, off-road lights, etc)…..you’re like a square off brick wall on the highway……my LC (stock for most part except tires and sliders) is more like a rounded edge brick wall. Oh wait, you have chrome delete…that will make your LC slick!!

You’re thinking of my previous 200. My new one doesn’t yet have a roof rack or off-road lights…yet 😎 However I do have a lift.

Totally forgot to try this. Ill give it a shot soon.

Here you go. Sorry it’s a bit blurry. I didn’t realize my iPhone camera was on the wrong setting but you can still make it out.
My current setup:
2020 Heritage on Ridge Grappler 285/70r18 at 36psi

0mph-39db at stop light
71mph-65db
