Hi folks! I obviously have my master thread for most Lumberjack Engineering products, but this one is a little different so I thought I'd split it out to gauge interest.

My center caps were wrecked when I got my Rock Warrior wheels, so right now the caps are just painted - but they're just not as nice as they could be, haha. So, that means I'm looking at ways to solve that.

Is there any interest in replica Rock Warrior center caps from the community? These would have a machined aluminum face, custom 3D printed backside (that snaps into the center recess in the wheel) from glass-fiber reinforced ASA, and would have 6x stainless steel M3 countersunk screws to connect the two. Not an exact replica of the original (since it'd have the exposed fasteners), but I think it'd complement the wheel well.

The aluminum would be clear powder coated, and the red TRD would be a outdoor-rated vinyl sticker placed into the machined recess.
Also thinking about doing a 'LRD' version for those of us that are fancy.

Rough idea on cost would be ~$150 for a set of 4. I know, that's a lot for center caps - but, considering the only replacement I can find (PTR18-34071), is $189 FOR ONE, I guess it's better than that? Haha. It could be a lot cheaper if someone didn't want them clear powder coated, but I can't recommend that since road grime is going to oxidize bare aluminum fast. If you've got RW wheels powder coated in a custom color this could be a chance to match that though - I could provide the bare aluminum for you to take to your powder coater of choice.

I'll probably have a set machined and then walk through the rest of the steps to finalize cost and get everyone an idea of what they look like in real life - but, just trying to gauge interest for a 'production' run of them. Probably looking for five or so people to commit and I'd do a run of 10 sets. I've posted this to a couple of the FB groups as well, so hopefully across the 100 series community we can make this happen!

I think these are a great idea. I just bought some RWs for my 100, but the center caps won't fit with the 1/4" spacers I'm planning to use. Any chance you could make a set of these that solves that problem?

Oh, interesting! That's probably possible - the center machined aluminum piece would just get pushed outwards. It may look a little funny I guess - not a whole lot of room to play with to make it flow better.

Alternatively, if you're not set on the aluminum face I can look at what other geometry works in a entirely 3D printed design.

I think I would be open to either. Right now, my best option are the domed caps, PTR20-34071.

I would be in for a set of tall boys.

Ideally along with custom shorter dust caps. I’ve flattened my dust caps to allow the stock flat center caps and 3/4” spacers to work together, otherwise I’d need 1” spacers to clear the dust caps.

Try this on for size... What do you think? Roughly the same cost range (perhaps an additional $20 - would need to look at print time) if you wanted to keep the aluminum face - half that cost if you wanted a purely 3D printed version.

The intent with the 6 cutouts around the perimeter is to match the gap between each pair of 'spokes'. This gives an additional 0.75" of clearance, so between a 0.25" slip-on ring spacer, this cap, and minor flattening of the dust cap, you'll get the clearance you need:

(yes, I know that's a 6 lug RW wheel - spokes are the same as the 5 lug. It's the highest res straight-on photo I could find)

I think these look great. I'd be in for them in aluminum.

Great! I think I've got another person interested in the raised caps as well. If I can get another person or two I think they can definitely be 'a go'.

Once I get my truck back I'll confirm fitment on the 3D printed interface to the wheel and then get some things machined!

I’m not quite ready. My ultimate goal is larger tires along with [hopefully] a narrower 3/8” spacer, along with 3/8” raised center caps. But I won’t know what works until I’ve got the rubber on the rig.

I don't want to derail the thread, but I'm interested to see what you come up with. Your post on the RWs was what led me to 1/4" spacers with the domed caps, but I'm only planning on 33s for now.

I think I've gotten enough interest (between here and the UZJ100 group) to go ahead and justify going forth and getting some sets of both the flat caps and the raised caps made - I'm going to get the 3D printed part fine-tuned before I get the aluminum machined by my buddy, but I'll keep everyone updated!

Interested!
