Just wanted to let people know that i managed to get a agreed value for my rig through my insurance company progressive. we came to the number of 19600 dollars reflecting the current cost of a clean rig with a bunch of modifications bumpers racks lift snorkel, ETC mind you my rig is at 240000 miles. it took half a hour on the phone but in the end i was very happy to have good coverage around 500 dollars extra a year. with no limitations on use.

with the values of a good cruiser seeming to go up i was concerned that i would get a check for half of what was in the rig if there was a collision our a tree fell on it to name a few. at least i can sleep easy.

Did you buy it back too ??

I have State Farm and I have agreed value policy on two of my 7 vehicles. Basically, I pay for the amount covered for. I can claim that I want my Stude covered for $25,000, but I will have premiums accordingly. Contrary, I can agree upon a value of $5,000 and my premiums will reflect that, but if I get in a collision and it will cost $20,000 to rebuild it, then they will only pay out $5,000 on the one version and the rest would be out of my pocket.

EDIT:
And no restrictions for mileage, where or when I go somewhere, or where I park it at night.
I also licensed the Stude as a regular car instead of "antique" because the DMV wants to restrict the use of "antique" vehicles for annual mileage.

I have $20k of agreed upon coverage on my 80 through Hagerty. It was basically the same price as my Farmers policy.

What are the limits on your policy?

I have a $40k policy on my 69 Road Runner and $40 on my 29 HiBoy through Hagerty, but when I tried to get a policy for my Cruiser, they flat out told me no :(

Policy terms and availability vary by state, by company, and by agent. I have stated value thru Farmers in Arizona. In 2022 I will be able to get a Collectors policy on my 80.

I thought Haggerty required garage parking and NO wheeling in ALL states?

I told them I use it to go camping and drive it around on the weekends, which is what I use it for. I'm sure if I crashed it while wheeling, it wouldn't be covered.

I got into an accident (rear 4x4 labs bumper took the brunt of it) with my '97 with 180,000 miles. I have progressive. They thought it would total but they were wrong. Stated value was about $10,000. This was last year.

And that's the story of how progressive paid off my truck.

What $ was the damage estimate, and what state are you insured in?

Damage was $5k and was insured in MA at the time. The damage was significant but mostly cosmetic. Replaced the taillight, rebuilt the basket, and hatch and tailgate still open and close. Thank God for the 4x4 labs and for the half inch thick bolts my crazy welder friend put it on with. Stock setup would have failed.
