Interesting on the 3/8” @lcwizard. I am running 7/16” on my FF rear end and about to go bore out my front hubs for the same. I will watch for cracks, but I disagree on inadequate material. Not sure what method you used to drill/tap but I did so on my Bridgeport with a jig that I made, so every hole is straight, true and centered. I could see potential issues if done with a regular drill or drill press. I have broken the stock studs often. Even on the street.
Sorry for the thread hijack, I realize this doesn’t pertain to most Starbucks crawlers on here, however not having to deal with cone washers if you do frequent maintenance is sooo nice.
