What could I have screwed up? I installed the Slee washer bottle relocation kit in preparation for installing dual batteries, and now my rear washer doesn't work. Instead the front washer works when you turn the stalk. Any ideas?

Arya,
Doubt this could be it, but I had the same thing happening a week ago (with no relocation kit). I was in the middle of the freeze in the mid-west. I think the line froze and the valve that directs fluid redirected it to the front. Once it warmed up, the problem went away. You're in DC now? It's pretty warm here in VB so I doubt that would be it. Maybe the line got kinked or blocked?

BTW, I too put on a set of Revo's since the last time I saw you. I wound up driving 4 hours through the teeth of the winter storm in Ohio last week. They worked very well in a foot of snow.

Oh yeah, I think my Hanna sliders have arrived. I go to pick them up today. Let me know if you want to see them.

I can not help with your problem. But I am hoping you share your experiance.
Its one I want to do :flipoff2:

I'm in DC now, but drove up from VB last night and the problem started in VB. I had problems with the fluid freezing last week, but not since. I'll have to check how I routed the lines to make sure nothing got kinked.

So far I've been very pleased with my Revo's. They handle 10 times better than the Dueller HTs I had on it previously and their grip in the rain/snow/ice has been nothing short of impressive. I drove aggressively all week around town trying to get them to slip and slide and only got the rearend to break loose once and that was on a sheet of ice making a 90* turn at 30mph. All in all very pleased with my purchase.

I would love to see the sliders, if only to get some fab ideas. I'm planning to make my own since I can't afford the Hanna's or Slee's.

Loquito, I got the tray mounted and am looking to pick up my isolator and second battery this week or next. So hopefully I'll be able to finally make some progress on this project.

hobbes, when you get those sliders installed, can I see them? I would like to know what they look like once installed on your rig. You ain't that far anyway and thanks. :D

It is a coincidence. The diverter is on the left side of the vehicle and there is only one hose on the right. If you have a supply for one you have it for both. Either your diverter is bad or you have an issue with the rear line. Remember the line to the rear is in excess of 20 feet long and if it was full of plain water it will take a bit to flush all that out so that the line is full of solvent instead. This is a good argument for the use of cold weather solvent year-round (or 50% methanol in my case;) ).

Ary,
Check the hole in the nozzle, sometimes they get clog due to dirt that accumulated back there. I have the same problem with my 4skinner and I used a toothpick to clean the hole, it was clogged and dirty. Check that one first and go from there. :D

Arya, if it's ice in there today should thaw it (assuming it's hitting 60 degrees up there like here). Like CDan said it's a long hose. I've only used straight solvent in mine, but the PO must have diluted it since it froze (or maybe just the nozzles did since they probably had some ice on them).

Seadog, I'll let you know when I get them installed. It may be a bit. I'm going to toss on the OME sitting in the garage first. I'm by Duck In fwiw. Arya isn't too far away when he is in town, and he has some good ideas on his truck (like the rear power outlets he's running) that I'd like to copy.

hobbes, let me know if you need help installing these OMEs. Which one did you get? Heavy or Medium? Again let me know if you need help. :D

This is definitely a detour but I used to use the common blue antifreeze washer water and found that it sometimes slightly stained the white moonglow on my rig so I switched to this prestone stuff that is yellowey clear and works great at cleaning the windshield and works even greater at clearing off and keeping off minor ice. So that's the good news right? Well, one day after using the stuff for some weeks, I read on the label that its base is ethylene glycol ... holy crap I'm actually washing my windshield with sticky sugary antifreeze! even worse, its highly poisonous and there is no way to prevent it hitting the ground in whatever amounts I squirt, (and gentlemen let me say I squirt alot! ;) ) WTF!!! Why would a manufacturer produce a poisonous nasty product that will trickle its way all over streets, sewers etc? I guess I'm going back to basics and getting the blue (ammonia based?) product and saving the squirells!!!!! If even the blue products' base is EG, what else is out there that is not poisonous that works well and wont stain? Man that makes me itch!!!!!!!!

I was under the impression that anti-freeze was biodegradable and only harmful in concentrated quantities, i.e. a dog drinking a puddle of it in your driveway, or the like. I highly doubt the few drops running down onto the street are going to make much of a difference one way or another. Maybe I'm wrong though.

No you are probably right about that. I just think of the old Chinese proverb, "A little bit of poison is still poison!" when you consider how many gallons of this stuff is sold and then scattered all over all the streets, and then washed with rain into puddles you gotta wonder how it affects everything around from birds to bugs to pets to people eventually. I'm probably paranoid as always but it is something to think about, I think, maybe, right? Hey do you all hear those voices too???

if it makes you feel any better this time of year the air-lines hose down entire aircraft with hundreds of gallons of heated EG for de-icing just fefore take off. IIRC the stuff that drips off at the deicing site is collected and recycled, but the stuff that stickes winds up on the runway and in the air during take off,

there are bacteria that love and it degrade EG into safe organic compounds in a few days or less, if a lage ammount were to get into a water way this bacteria would use up all the oxygen in the water killing the fish. a little drip here and there may kill an unlucky bug but not anything as big as a rat

I hear those voices too sometimes .......................... :flipoff2:

And they say 'TURBO cruisers rule' .......................... :D

Seadog, I went with 850/860 on the OME springs. That will give me the "heavy" springs up front and "mediums" in the rear. I generally don't carry much weight in the back and I have an ARB up front (no winch yet). If I don't like it, or delay a long time before the winch), I'll get the 851s for the front. The springs are reasonably priced.
