Yeah, I knew better than to post up but live and learn. I'm gonna watch and see how high they go. No one has yet to post a possible price on these, could it be that no one really knows?

I will guarantee they will go higher than any reasonable person should pay for a vehicle of unknown running condition, with an uncertain future, purchased as government surplus . Without a personal inspection how are you to know why they haven't run in so long? Maybe they got dipped in brine 10 years ago and the entire drivetrain and all the electrical is shot..........or maybe the motor pool couldn't figure out how to source an air filter and it got parked in favor of the Chevy...........

It's hard to fix on a price because they can't be imported to the US and there really isn't a comparable. Like I said, depending where you are, you may be able to register it as is, or just use it on your private ranch, or register it as something else...................price is a total crapshoot.................whatever someone is willing to pay. I know what I would pay, but it would only be if I could pick them up personally, which I can't do. ;)

My guess is they are some of the mythical mine vehicles that our government bought for domestic use while denying us the opportunity.................:censor:

Those are leftover Desert Storm trucks

When I got to Saudi Arabia for Desert Storm, Japan had just contributed a shipload of those trucks and diesel 62s to the war effort. There were acres of them and all the keys were hanging on a peg board. They told me to "pick one and get out of here"

I drove that thng for 6 months, all the time thinking how nice it was and wishing there was a way to get it home, which of course there wasn't. I bought one right after the war.

Nice find.

are they even in the US now.....that pic looks like someplace besides the US

Already past 2550, they're going to go high. The auctions note that the vehicles are "inoperable" and that repairs are required... sounds like they might be basket cases to me (but also could just need a new battery). Tough call, IMO, good for someone with spare cash tho.

Winner! These gov auction vehicles always go for crazy high prices. I have bid on some nearby in the past and the trucks always sell for what I consider to be crazy high prices.

I guess it will no longer be 1500 bucks after posting it here.:bang: What I like about these is the front suspension setup.

I must say I feel a little sorry for nspctr1.

I don’t.

Further, there have been A LOT of these auctions listed over the last five-plus years, and only some of them end up being talked about out here, and they ALL go for STUPID CASH, but people are willing to pay, so who gives a s***?

If a user thinks they can post ANYTHING on an Internet forum that is for sale SOMEPLACE online and NOT have at least one person possibly end up bidding against them, they are amazingly ignorant.

:meh:

WORD :D

if someone wants to shoot me the link I am curious(and have ZERO intention of bidding)

Let me just say that I am not so ignorant to think that I am the only one who knows or watches government auctions and that by asking for info on this board would not lead to other people bidding or even locating the auction would be assinine.Iknow what my limits are for bidding and if posting on here offers the item to other MUD members then so be it. It was a gamble I was willing to take. You guys sending me PM's telling me I ruined your chance of winning are also kidding yourself and the threats? Come on, you have to be kidding me!!! It's a friggin' truck. Let's all calm down here and take a deep breath.

It does appear the price of these trucks is going to go for a stupid price and just to see what stupid emails I get now I am going to give you guys a present..
