interesting...i wish i could afford coil overs...lol do you think the fixed valving 5125's or a set of es9000's would suffice?

I've got 7100 remote resevoirs on my FJ-62 with OME leaf springs. I started out too heavy and have come down to 275/60 in the back and 345/78 in the front. This combo is way better than any combination of OME shocks that I tried. However the rebound needs to come down in the front. My next interation up front will probably be 275/70 or 75.

It is interesting that the few folks that run 7100s with leaves seem to prefer softer compression and rebound. The 80 series folks seem to like heavier valving (in the 360/80 range or higher). 80s are heavier but not that much heavier. Is this because coils don't have friction like a leaf spring or is there something else going on here?

I actualy reduced the high-speed compression and increased the rebound dampening. It helped. Is it possible that the 80s only go off road when accidentaly running over the flower bed on the way to the street? Flame suite on...

hey now dont be hatin!

No, the ones I'm thinking of are very built 80s that do get wheeled.

Definitely agree that less compression on a mildly built 60 series is desireable. Even the soft OME shocks had too much compression for me. I'm at 60 in back and currently at 78 up front. I'll likely take the front down to 75 or 70 in the near future.

leaves and coils are completely different. leaves need softer valving than coils.

i love mine, she wheels like crazy, only downside is 80's are expensive to build and maintain, i'd rec. a dd, and your going to swap your 60 drivetrain onto an 80?
