I import from various countries. (india, china, turkey, nepal, belgium)

I wonder how hard it would be to find someone in one of those countries willing to put used LC parts on a container and ship them over. I know I could probably buy old 40s in turkey or india and put them on a container and sell parts here in the states. I just wonder if it would be profitable. Thoughts?

I would say it would be a profitable venture, several companies already do it.........

you can put me down for an h41 tranny..........and maybe one of them diesel engines

I forget who it was now but someone had linked 4 videos in chit chat where the guy from one of the parts distributers was in iran or somewhere in a cruiser graveyard. He was showing all the cruiser and parts and such.

Spector. ANd thats what gave me the idea.

You should just bring in whole vehicles, there were so many 45 trucks in those videos and they are hard to find in the US now minimal rust you could get good money for them.

Marshall,

dude I'd be all about the importing business. You tell me the plan and I'll run with it. I'd love nothing more than to learn about and work on all those cruisers that are looking for homes.

great idea I say!

Costa Rica also has lots of Cruisers running around. And lots of graveyards with trucks in better condition than many I see for sale on Ebay. Lots of diesels, 45's, 70's, and 75's. Was down in March and was lucky enough to get a Diesel Prado Land Cruiser as my rental car. I'll try to find a pic of the ever-present FJ40 tow trucks.....

I'm up for startin my own landcruiser fixerup garage!!! that would kickass...nothin better than turning wrenches on a cruiser...well there is one thing....use your imagination!

Marshall: That would be a dream come true. Lets talk more about that soon.

Well after a year of planning. I have finally gotten some good contacts. Things should actually start moving a little faster. Hopefully this time next year I should have an online website and a pretty diverse catalog of used and new cruiser parts. For the initial time I'm going to try to focus on the rarities. H41's, diesels, tubs, body parts and full floating axles.

don't forget the 80's guys.....long range gas tanks, steel rims etc

Sweet! I want that diesel swap, I hope my cruiser will make it another year of DD and high gas prices.

Another good thing, we'll have a local cruiser shop:cool:
