I'll swim against the tide and agree that JDM and Diesel for sale is not needed.

Either all in one section, and you head it well for search features, or like denis mentions...body/drivetrain. Would outfitting needed?

gb

I disagree, I see the value in this as its own section section. Again, I have not posted nor have I bought anything yet, but I check this every single day as I'm sure there must be others that do. I am always looking for odds and ends for my trucks.

Just my thought.

I "have" been thinking of a 1HD-FTE conversion in my 80-series tho ;)

thanks for the comments, keep 'em coming!

Off topic...what you want is the 1HD-T, not the "E". You don't want to be dealing with all that computer crap in your swap...or do you? :)

I too enjoy one location for parts. I will buy a star too if you'll keep it :)

"E" more power and better economy when running good. ...
Local price for a new injection pump is AU$ 6,000.00 in N.Qld.
Also around $4,000.00 for a rebuild as they damage easily. Local injection shop told me there are only two people in Oz rebuilding these and he was not interested in buying the special gear for them. Alternative is to send it to Japan for a rebuild. The shop that I spoke does very heavy diesel to small diesel gen sets.

I haven't bought anything from list section yet, but i do review it on a consistant basis to keep abreast of something i might need or something some one else might need that i have. The time will come for all of us when a part is what we need to get going again. Then i'll race to the diesel section. My vote is to keep her up. This is the only place on the net with such a niche group of diesel expertise. Thanks

Diesel parts for sale at it's pinnacle??

Brian, I do not own a Diesel, But I do cruise this thread. I find myself more interested each day of maybe someday of doing a diesel make over for the Fj40. Due to the price of gas and being able to run biodiesel or Vegie oil. Maybe I'm waiting for that day when I see a 3b diesel for sell not to far from me. It would be a Buy it now, do it now thing. But this forum allows me to view Diesel parts easier than trying to find them in a forum where they would be buried. Please don't mix diesel with Parts for sale. I'm sure there is other guys that cruise this forum for the same reason. I'm also sure with the popularity of diesel is getting now-a-days this forum will be a growing community. You said it yourself, You wouldn't mind having a diesel too. Now imagine trying to find a diesel part in the parts for sale area. Thank you for this oppurtunity to voice my opinion.
If this has nothing to do with what you are suggesting, Please ignore this post.

Too late, G&S bought it.

Keep the section, I have not posted anything here but in the regular sale section stuff gets pushed out too fast by people selling hats, mittens, cat collars and stuff. I sell engines and FF locking axles, stuff you never had int he States. Not that anyone is beating a path to my door.....

WOW, I have one sitting in a box under the bench! Want it :-) Say for 1/4 the price of a rebuilt?

Code:
Buy it anyhow. Good way to show support.

Done- I put money where my mouth is.

You're gonna keep this seperate now right :D

That’s a heckuva bump!

 I just ran across this thread looking for something else.
"You've come a long way baby."

Yowsa! I had to go back and read what in the world this was about! Yea, I think that is when I bought my first silver star. And I had my first Yota diesel, Rusty the BJ70 from Canada which lives in/around Leadville CO now. Heck I didn't even live in Texas when this all happened!

What were you searching for that resurfaced this?

:)

Thanks !

Was trying to find an old FS thread that I thought had some info and pics of a truck DD had.
I always enjoy running across and bumping some of the old archives.

Just my two cents, but finding specific parts for niche vehicles in a general parts for sale thread seems like "needle in a haystack" time to me. I probably wouldn't bother looking. I realize that as a percentage, diesel and foreign-market trucks are a very small minority of what's on 'Mud, but that's exactly why having separate "for sale" and "parts" threads is so useful to those of us who have such vehicles. Not to say the process couldn't be streamlined somehow, but having a convenient way to search for cars/parts/wanted that's specifically tailored to foreign-market cars is very useful.

It appears to be working though. When a rare part goes up for sale it usually sells immediately. That's the point, right? It's a pain to search through other sections for specifics. Too many threads/forums to comb through.
