I'd like to see how long this lasts

I "joined" this club last year. I have been out of town for awhile, and will be leaving again shortly but as a member of CSC i do think im gonna ad my 2 cents in.

For those of you who dont know Sonoranfun if a personal friend of mine, I think i can vouch for his character. Points being.

1.) In regard to the race (black guy thing with the 40) I personally took it as a description I.E. does anyone know the white guy with the mustard 40 that says Jeep Eater on the side. He was simply trying to get info on the guy and the rest of you are the ones that played the race card!

2.) "he suddenly became an expert in the value of 80's" Look nobody is an expert in this. The prices are all over the board but here is my take. Good solid locked 80's can be bought in the 5k-6k range, I know I just bought one for $5500 and its damn nice. Does that mean that someone shouldnt pay 11k for it, no, pay it if you want. There is no shortage of people on this board saying "oh thats a great price I wish I had the money" but if they want one and dont have 12k then maybe they should loook a little harder.

3.) He did not rip anybody off. I will admit he was slow on some shipping but he did post his phone number for people to call him. It was not a fax it is an actual phone that he answers ( I know, i call him every day) If some items never got straightend out the it is the mutual fault of both sonoranfun and the buyer. They should have called him for a refund ect...

4.) Maybe it is "illegal" to be in urban washes but I have been down there more than once climbing some hills, sitting by the fire, with the sherrif right there with us. The law is enforced when need, I.E. monsoon season ect...


Everyone deserves their opinion, if you dont like him then dont read his posts. What I can tell you is if anyone ever need a place to work on their toyota, or were broke down on the side of the road he would show up to help with a trailer or a set of tools. You all need to chill out.

BMAN, you rock, I have wheeled with you and a few others and had a great time. The mustard 40 is now gone and I hope to do upper ajax with you in my 76 which I will do the trail in.

Lets see how long it takes for this post to be closed. As for me I am very disapointed in the way this was handled and am seriously considering cutting all ties to CSC as well, but we will see how this all plays out.

See, this is where the alert system would come in handy that I mentioned in the other post that was so blatantly (albeit justifyably...) hijacked by BMAN!

... and am seriously considering cutting all ties to CSC ....

FYI: Threatening to leave any organization only carries weight if the party making said threat has essential value to that organization. Also, such a threat can be made only once in order to be effective, and said party must be prepared to leave. Furthermore, the drawback of making such a threat and then not following through is that the respect for the party within the organization is usually seriously diminished, unless the party emerges with a quantifyable 'victory' or 'payoff'.

But stepping forward as character witness is always laudable...

Some of us here do have a problem with our club forum being filled with negative connotations on a regular basis. Especially unwarranted ones! Sonoranfun wants no part of the club, yet he posts in our club forum? Why? I would like to know what it is as a club we did to him, to make him have such a destructive vendetta against us. It was long before the dude with the 40 in Tucson post too.

You claim to be his good friend, maybe you can enlighten us all to what he has against joining CSC, and why is it that he tries to turn every new person that logs into our club forum against joining this club?

I don't care if he posts on the main IH8MUD board, and if he does and I so choose to read what he writes there, then that is my own prerogative. He just doesn't belong here in the "Clubhouse Corner" Copper State Cruiser forum part of it, clogging up our posts with his negativity towards clubs.

I would hate to see you go dude. It was great to meet you the night you joined, but that torch is yours to carry and your choice to make. A word of advice, when picking your battles to fight, don't let someone and their poor decisions become yours as well.

That just about sums it up. I've looked up some of his posts in other boards on MUD and he seems to get peoples back up no matter where he posts. So it's not just this board that is misjudging him, if that be the case. Maybe he needs to show for a run or meeting to let people get to know him, he doesn't have to join s***, just show some of us the real Adam. His internet persona leaves a bit to be desired.

Is like throwing down a gauntlet for tools and his position here. We are all adults here and most of us are just very tired of the BS that runs hand in hand with sonoranfun, but none-the-less most of us are willing to talk openly and objectively about our positions. If you want to discuss this issue then maybe you should not start it with such a challenge as to how long the thread will last.

I have posted here before this was CSC thing and so had Sonoranfun. I think I haven't joined also because of all PC political BS. I just choose not express myself like Adam.
I have gone on a trip with Alvin and Kyle and had a great time. When asked by Alvin if I wanted a CSC application, I kindly refused. But I still will post here as a non-member because I get great local info and try to give some too.

I say let him back in, and if he can't play nice then just ignore.It doesn't mean someone should search out every subjective post, delete it and then give a smart ass reason why. If I got involved in every thing that went on with MUD, I would have very large post count. You can't police everything and why would you want to.

What censorship are you talking about? Up until this past weekend he littered our forum with his "views" completely unchecked to my knowledge. Our Moderators have a duty to perform and they have done their job finally by pulling the chain on a loose cannon.

Political BS is far from what my understanding is the foundation of this club. As far as the PC part of it, dude that is just common courtesy. I have friends of all walks of life and back grounds and I view them as one thing... A friend! I do not look at a persons ethnic background as a descriptive adjective nor do I include it in conversation. We are all people, some good some bad, and that is it!

That is great! I respect your choice not to join, and to use this forum as a basis for your knowledge and to share your wisdom with others. That is what it is here for. You also show your respect here as well and do not undermine the forum created by the club either.

Play nice is not what fun is about. He has singled me out in the past, and I have dealt with him in private posts away from the board. I did nothing to him to warrant his personal attacks, but I did stand up for myself with him. Ignorance to his posts is not a solution either. He will continue to interject his slanted views and poisoned opinions in this forum until there is nothing left of it. We have a great thing here with a solid foundation in our club officials, if you don't like it, then find another club or start one of your own. Duane, I want you to know that this is not personal in anyway and I can tell you are above this BS as well, but to let him back in does no one here any good. What has he given in return to the whole of this forum, for his presence here? IMO, NOT A THING!

I am by no means "throwing down the gauntlet" on tools, However you are correct when you assume I am attacking his position. Last I checked we are allowed, and obligated to question leadership. It seems to me that you daryl (yes I am pointing you out) are the one with the problem with sonoran. Thats fine, I dont really mind, there are plenty of people in my life that I have a problem with. At least now we all know what the problem is. If the math was done it seems about 10% of the people on this forum have a problem with sonoran and the rest seem to think this is all bull s@@t. So alas life goes on and the thread was not deleted to my surprise.

As for me and mine, my wheeling schedule doesnt give me all day to sit here in front of this screen. See you all on the trail (and this board when I get a few extra min).

Count me in on that 10%, if you don't like clubs, why hang out in the club forums and cause trouble? I equate it to the Jeep lovers posting in Toy forums, or substitute your favorite brands. It's done purely to irritate. Fine in chat, not fine in a place that outsiders go to check out a club. I think Sonoran was out of line, had been for a long time, received plenty of warning, and forced the issue. In a few weeks this topic will die, and the club forum will be a better place for it. This coming from someone who originally took Sonoran's side and couldn't see what was so wrong about what he was doing. Having been here a (short) while now and seeing more of Sonoran's posts I can see the problem.
